The fun part is realizing they each have their own reasons, which may or may not have anything at all to do with you, and they’ll probably never tell you if you ask.

Few people are direct and open enough to tell you when something is bothering them. Fewer still can do so without a disproportionate reaction or trigger response.

I just have to shrug and move on.

But yes it still gives me pause.

I’ve been trying to be more open when I’m having a bad day, for this reason.

People can tell something is off, and they feel better when I mention that I’m having a rough day, and it isn’t them.

Jup just came back from camping with friends and their friends. So many complicated social things at play -_-
