Trump’s administration literally pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal that Iran had been abiding by. They weren’t developing nuclear weapons, we cut sanctions… Absolutely everyone won. Except Trump, whose fee fees were hurt that a Democrat created this deal, so the overgrown toddler blew it up. Now everything’s worse.
The CIA didn’t believe they were pursuing nukes last October and thought they could step in and stop them if they were.
This all has been Israel (and Saudi) wanting to smack Iran. Once Syria was out of the picture, Iran was next on the queue.
Thank you for your attention to this matter!
Did one of the college interns write this?
This reads like several other recent posts of his recently where it’s clear he’s not actually running things.
Like the other day he said something like “Pete Hegeseth should send in the troops!” to LA. 1. You’re the president Donald, you kind of make that decision. 2. Why aren’t you talking directly to him and if you are, why did you ask him to do it in the post instead of saying he already is?
Same thing with this one. Reads like he’s giving an order to staff instead of communicating with his cult.
Its a shitty boss thing. Shift your responsibilities to your subordinates so they can take the blame if something goes wrong. If it goes right, you take the credit for their work.
Well, it’s not ALL CAPS 🤔
… but it does still use caps for Emphasis
JFC, he capitalized words that are not proper nouns for emphasis. What a moran.
Great Country:tm:
Okay, I gotta say something here.
For all of his failings, and there are many, the thing that embarrasses me most that he is president is how horrible he is at speech and writing. Like, motherfucker, you had access to the best education you could get over the last seventy years, and you couldn’t be bothered to take a fucking class or two and write shit like this? My fucking twelve year old niece is better than that
The thing is, he hasn’t had to be anything other than what he is. He’s experienced no real consequences to any of his shitty behavior. He’s skated by, even been propped up, on his brash incompetence.
I just dont’ understand how Trump rallies can be so popular with his base considering he speaks like he had a fucking stroke.
He is an unintelligent person who looks down on education and good people.
To be fair his support base specifically likes him because he doesn’t speak like a typical politician. There are numerous accounts of trump supporters saying things like “he says it like it is” and “he’s a guy you could have a conversation with.” I think there is something to the way he speaks that resonates with people. I’m from Australia and it feels like all politicians speak in a specific way. They talk like they’re walking on eggshells and it’s not appealing to me. Trump’s terrible, but his speech is iconic. And honestly, sometimes I’m not sure if he sounds dumb purely because I’m used to politicians speaking with a manufactured eloquence. Maybe if I heard a random person speaking with Trump’s cadence I wouldn’t give it a second thought.
I literally tried to follow transcripts of Trump talking back in 2016, and I couldn’t. They just came off as word salads, unfortunately this is why his base loves him.
It’s kinda like those New Age speakers who give a bunch of empty platitudes that could reasonably mean any god damn, if you bite hard enough you’ll look for what you want to hear without even realizing it.
Back during his first presidency, I watched I think it was Mars rover landing. There was a press conference after the successful touchdown where he was speaking. At this point I knew the man was a stupid POS, but I’d never actually heard him speak for more than 10 seconds.
Whoo boy. Not only was his body language and cadence annoying, he was talking absolute, mindless nonsense. I clicked off the stream and decided to come back later to catch actually smart people talking. Joke’s on me. Literally – in the original meaning of the word – an hour later he was still babbling nonsense. I was genuinely shocked at how much and for how long this man could talk with zero substance or coherence. The fact that so many people think he “says it as it is” either tells me these people a) never heard him speak for longer than 10 seconds, b) never actually listened with understanding, but just nodded along because he’s not a “lib’rul” or c) are actually genuinely so dumb, but by some incredible stroke of luck they’ve survived long enough to vote for him.
The answer is that Trump’s speech works for the new reason why empty new age platitudes work. Not because they say something interesting, but because they sound like they might.
People aren’t hearing Trump speak because he’s not saying anything, they’re hearing what they want to hear in the word salad.
That’s the cocaine energy he using to talk that long
No no, it’s dumb. It’s not the cadence that makes it dumb; it’s the substance, or sometimes utter lack of it in Trump’s case.
“Look, having nuclear — my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart — you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I’m one of the smartest people anywhere in the world — it’s true! — but when you’re a conservative Republican they try — oh, do they do a number — that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune — you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged — but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me — it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are — nuclear is so powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what’s going to happen and he was right, who would have thought? — but when you look at what’s going on with the four prisoners — now it used to be three, now it’s four — but when it was three and even now, I would have said it’s all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don’t, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years — but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us, this is horrible.”
Actually trying to read a transcript of what he says is like pulling teeth. He’s absolutely all over the place and takes half a dozen tangents to get to a one-sentence point
There was an article during his first term written by a French translator who was lamenting how her job was completely impossible - if she translates the general gist of his speech then it’s like she’s misrepresenting the nonsense, but if she translates it directly then a lot of people think that she’s being either incompetent or malicious
This is a famous example but you could have chosen any of his “speeches”. I’d claim that the newer ones are even worse.
Journalists around the world have been complaining about this ever since 2016: it’s impossible to write good political journalism about Trump. There was a collective sigh of relief in 2020, manifesting itself as pleasant silence. Then Jan 6 happened…
He’s probably took a hit of nose powder before typing all of it
Idk I read that passage and I can mostly understand what he’s saying, I’d go as far as to say it’s just as understandable as a lot of the word salad non answers from typical politicians. This sounds like how someone might present themselves in conversation, someone who isn’t trained in how to give speeches or have a high level understanding of language construction. People vote on vibes and the vibes trump is giving up is some guy you might bump into in the pub. That is an exceedingly valuable thing to have as a politician in a society that largely doesn’t trust its politicians. And in my opinion they have good reason not to trust them, it’s unfortunate who was able to capitalise most on that distrust though.
Right, but there’s basically nothing there. He took all that time to say “Iran outnegotiated us”. Brevity alone isn’t a mark of quality obviously, but the point the person above was making is that underneath the bluster there really is very little substance. You had said you don’t know whether it’s actually dumb or just not what you’re used to hearing, and we’re both saying that yes it really is dumb. It can be effective and popular while being dumb as well, unfortunately
Part of being a politician is being appealing. He’s not just reciting information.
I read the original comment as referring to quality, not substance, of his speech. Both are lackluster but the average American isn’t eloquent so his style of speech appeals to them more than a typical politician.
He speaks the weave, 9 nonsensical things combined into 1 where only his supporters can understand.
He’s literally admitted he hasn’t matured past the age of six.
Besides, why would he even want to learn when he just gets everything he wants?
He was given an education, and the information bounced off of his brain like bullets off superman. His professors have said that he was profoundly stupid.
I read somewhere about that and the theory was that this is intentional, a big chunk of his base are functionally illiterate and talking like this makes him just understandable. Add to this the fact that speaking like this makes him sound very nonpatronizing. Finally it’s good marketing, it’s the same thing Ben Shapiro does in his annoying argument voice. Now that I think about it even Obama has a very easily distinguishable way of speaking.
All that to say, it is a conscious choice imo.
Yeah I somewhat agree, I think it’s more likely that he’s emphasising his natural cadence as opposed to a total fabrication. People like to call him dumb but he is possibly the most successful con man in history. If you think he’s an idiot you’re falling for it too.
Telling people to “give up hopes” is just a terrible word choice, even if the thing you’re asking them to give up is solidly distasteful.
So many more positively phrased options-- “commit to peaceful nuclear programs”, for example. We got a real wordsmith in here, boys. Better keep Smith AND Corona lubed up and ready.
what, it’s not “diplomatic” to use phrases reminiscent of what’s inscribed on the gates of hell?
Didn’t he pull the Iran Nuclear Deal?
I was gonna say, this mother fucker literally pulled out of the deal that was working to keep Iran from getting nuclear weapons in the first place. This would be like if I came home drunk and shit the bed, then held a family meeting saying I am instructing everyone in the house to work towards an end to shitting in the beds.
It’s all bullshit bro, just maximum genocide forever.
Why do they point out that it was 4 hours ago? Did he
tweettruthlie it after the attacks started? That would be …what’s the word… sanctimoniousdamn…they really turned into a disruptive government, when they noticed they can’t fuck things inside, they decided to go outside…crazy.
Next time attend diplomacy 101.
