My SO has been struggling to find anything accounting related for the past 3 years. Last I checked she’s at 4 or 500 applications, 2 replies/ interviews, but no bites yet.

Even in my own case, just looking for jobs that would be okay with my skill set seem far and few between. I’ve found a few but they pay less than I’m making now (which is alarming! Inflation was terrible the last 5 years. Places where I live seem to not be keeping up). I’ve come across maybe a couple dozen where I think I was qualified based on their listing’s. Everybody wants a unicorn.

A friend of mine is a lawyer and she found a job that wanted to pay about $15 USD for 10 hour days 6 days a week. We were both surprised by that one. Seemed like a sweatshop. When asked why the last person left they replied with “they couldn’t handle how we work here”.
