Sukarno wasn’t a communist but he was infinitely better than the brutal military dictatorships that followed, his personal shortcomings do not change that fact. The indonesia example is yet another lesson to learn from for communists elsewhere, communists need to be armed and engage in violent struggle or you will be killed.
On Sukarno? From an anti colonial POV he became a leader for a nation in a troubling time after independence and I think he did pretty good

That’s actually so sad to see…terminal liberalism :/ . I never witnessed this amongst people i lived with in Indonesia. The impression that I got was that Sukarno’s coup is downplayed, but he’s still highly respected by most Indonesians. High likelihood you would get beat if you were saying this stuff in public in Indonesia.
