    Russia’s exclusion from certain European institutions does not equate to global isolation.

    For instance, its active participation in forums like the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) demonstrates enduring diplomatic engagement and influence. Recent high-level summits, such as the SCO meeting in Tianjin attended by President Putin and other world leaders underscore Russia’s integration into alternative geopolitical blocs.

    Additionally, the Alaska summit between Putin and Trump in August 2025 signaled a potential normalization of Russia’s relations with Western powers, further challenging the narrative of universal disdain.

    While the EU and others may condemn Russia’s actions, its partnerships across the Global South and within multilateral organizations reveal a more complex reality
