Hello there
I just received a TTArtisant 40mm macro for my Fuji XM-1, much needed to scan negatives.
The focus ring is slow and need quite some efforts to turn. Probably best for precision and not sliding out of focus.
But the mount has a quite a lot of play. It rotates following the focus ring adjustments, which, in turn, mess with the focus… It fit nicely flat on the body but this angular free play is annoying.
Anyway I need a macro lens, and can’t afford $600 for a genuine Fujinon X mount Lens…
Does anyone also have TTArtisan manual focus lenses ? How does they fit ?
I am tempted to send it back, can’t decide. Any advices ?
Bye
My vote is to return it.
I have an X mount on my X-T4 and several zooms and primes from Fujifilm, Viltrox, and Tamron.
None of them have any play in the mount after it’s clicked in.
If your other lenses have similar problems, maybe it’s an issue with the body.
Otherwise if this is the only lens with that issue, and others with that lens don’t have similar issues, I would return it.
No other lenses have any play. I have a few primes and the kit zoom, perfectly snug fit.
That’s a shame, I will probably send it back to Amazon and order another one from another seller, fingers crossed it’s just a lemon, not the whole series.
I can’t find any other lenses (vintage lenses with an adapter) that gives me close to 1:1
I second this. I have a few Chinese lenses and they don’t have mount issues.
Try getting a replacement first. Maybe you got a bad unit
It’s from Amazon my understanding if I ask for an exchange I need to deal with TTArtisan, negotiate, pay for shipping and wait hopping they don’t return my own copy.
If I just send it back, it’s Amazon problem to deal with it.
[Edit] thanks for all replies, the lens is sent back.
