Not pictured, it’s McDonald’s part time grill back up position that only gets hours while the Auto Grill 8000 is down.

It’s all to make you feel desperate and worthless. It’s also the real reason behind the screaming about the birth rate, because they need a large supply of labor to pretend that they could always find someone else to do hard work for long hours and low pay.

Everyone at my job keeps producing these AI slop summary and design documents and thanks I always wanted to read something you didn’t even type that has no discernible content.

I can’t imagine an AI summary would be faster than just typing something out. Typing is never the slow part of anything worth writing, it’s figuring out what needs said, the best way to say it, and if you said it as well as you could. AI can’t think, it can’t edit itself, and it can’t read my mind.

Literally. Use AI to parse it and make recommmendations back. Have them confirm them. Shrug if its wrong because they signed off on it.

Fight fire with fire, slop with slop. Applying genuine effort to someones 10 seconds of sloperating is always going to be a losing game.

“We want to know if you’re passionate about AI”

“I will give you a handjob”

      “YOU’RE HIRED!”

      “Great”

      “Soooooo…do I get the handjob now? Orrrr…”

      “Oh, I was lying.”

        a) probs dont apply for a job at the hand job factory if you dont want to give hand jobs

        b) you’ve got a couple weeks between getting the job offer and the start date, you are going to need some level of competence when you sit down for your first session… get busy ✊🍆… you’ve got this.

I am a software developer. A few months ago, a recruiter sent me a job description with one requirement being “believing that software developers will be replaced by AI within a few years”.

Bullshit like that makes me seriously consider changing careers if I lose my current job.

That’s like culty shit. It’s like if I were offered a factory job but first required to say that I believe that all manufacturing can and should be offshored in the next several years. Like no I don’t, but I know you’ll try to make it happen anyway

I believe whoever came up with that requirement could already be replaced by AI.

It doesn’t end once you get the job. And realize that it’s an endless, mind-numbing slog, 90% of which requires no qualification at all. That “exploitation” is not just a dramatic term made up by socialists. That your social skills are getting worse, not better, because of the faceless company you and everyone around you works for.

I’m retiring next week from a union job with a community college. Insane benefits, pension, no overtime. Some eager 20something would be set for life. But, it tends to be older workers who see the value of such a position.
