Huh? It was literally illegal to be gay in the 50s and 60s. Police raided gay bars. Black folks were segregated and arrested for violations. Women also didn’t have social mobility. There’s a reason that the media that came out in the 50s depicting the societal restriction on women was popular, especially The Stepford Wives.
