To be fair, cult members are actually drinking flavor-aid. I think vibe coders are actually eating sloppy joes.

You’d think Kool-Aid would have objected to being the brand ending up in the colloquialism.

“Our competitors would like you to take your own life in a cult. We just want to grape you in the mouth.”

    Look…

    if you had

    mom’s spaghetti…

would you capture it, or just let it slip?

yo! His palms spaghetti, knees weak, arms spaghetti!

there’s vomit on his sweater, spaghetti, mom’s spaghetti

he’s nervous, but on the surface, he looks calm spaghetti, to drop bombs

but he keeps on spaghetti what he wrote down

    The whole crowd goes spaghetti!

He opens his mouth but spaghetti won’t come out

he’s chokin’ how, everybody’s jokin’ now!

    spaghetti’s run out…

    time’s up, over! Blaugh!

snap back to spaghetti - oh there goes spaghetti, oh - there goes spaghetti

    blaugh!

he’s so mad, but won’t give up spaghetti

    nope, he won’t have it

he knows he keeps on forgetting

    that mom’s spaghetti’s dope

he knows that, but he’s broke, he’s so stagnant

he knows when he goes back to his mom’s spaghetti

that’s when it’s back to the lab again, yo

    this whole spaghetti

    better go capture spaghetti

and hope it don’t pass him

You better lose yourself in ya mom’s spaghetti! It’s ready!

you better never let it go!

you only get one spaghetti, do not miss your chance to blow

cause spaghetti comes once in a lifetime…

    YO!!!

because jim jones had his followers drink it to kill them. the comparison for coders is what makes me wonder if you know the horribleness of it. even kids. many did not know it was poison.

jim jones had his followers drink it to kill them

No he didn’t, which is why I made the joke about Flavor Aid

Jones proposed “revolutionary suicide” by way of ingesting a powdered drink mix made from Flavor Aid, later misidentified as Kool-Aid, that was lethally laced with cyanide and other drugs.

A “Showerthought” is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you’re doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

  • Both “200” and “160” are 2 minutes in microwave math
  • When you’re a kid, you don’t realize you’re also watching your mom and dad grow up.
  • More dreams have been destroyed by alarm clocks than anything else

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as “capitalism” and “communism”. If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy’s Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.
