If the cat wakes me with snuggles and bullshit, I’m allowed to do the same to her.
This works in reverse, too. My dachshunds routinely decide that my sleep time is the perfect time to just on Daddy’s face and snuzzle.

Cats are extremely light sleepers and often check on their buddies during the night. That’s why they enter love mode in the morning - they think you might’ve died or something for sleeping so soundly and are relieved when you are alright
My cat does this to me when I’m using the computer.

Same. Up to and including putting himself prominently between the keyboard and the screen if I ignore him, and lying down on the keyboard
