It’s relatively easy to create all kinds of text with a transparent background using any number of conventional graphics apps. I’m guessing AI developers consider it a well-solved problem which they aren’t super interested in reinventing. While it would be more convenient for the end user, it’s not too difficult for an average person to simply add a layer of text to an AI-generated image.
