    Are they exclusive?

Yes. The emphasis is on work to LIVE here. If you don’t need to work to live, your capital “works” for you.

I’m really trying to understand your point, but still don’t see the conclusion. I have to breathe to live. So am I a worker or a breather?

They’re not exclusive at all. Maybe I’m working so I can earn capital and retire - at which point I’m living without working, but still a capitalist.

You might aspire to be a capitalist, but you are not one at that point in time.

The point is that a real capitalist should have capital.

Consider someone works to live, but puts excess cash into various mutual funds that invest in companies on their behalf. Things like their car, electronics, and stock are all capital.

I had to verify with Google to make sure I wasn’t going crazy, but it seems like that person would be both a worker and a capitalist
