Today’s game is Halo Infinite. I managed to drag my friend and a few siblings out to play a few matches with me and we did a classic 8v8 in matchmaking. The screenshot above was taken during one of my favorite kills in the match where i got in a Banshee and rammed a guy under an overpass with it in an improvised kill. (right after that i got it stuck in a cave trying to pull a move i’d always pull in Halo 2)

at another point in the match i nabbed a warthog and got my friend and one of my brothers in with me. We didn’t make it far before bumping into a tank and everything going to shit. We ended up being chased by it in a scene that looked like it’d be in an action film, up until we were blasted by a banshee. We all 3 had a lot of fun being chased though. The whole match to be honest was a lot of fun, even if it revealed we suck ass at PvP.

a little after they all went to bed, i decided i wasn’t quite ready too yet, and hopped into another lobby on Sandtrap. I originally was planning to do ranked, thinking it’d pair me with people of a similar skill rank, but rank is locked until 50 matches. So instead i settled for another 8v8. The best play i made in the game was a kill (and embarrassingly the only kill) where i took another player out from the air. It was a really cool moment that brought me back to memories of PvP in Halo 3 multiplayer as a child.

Finally, After my horrible performance in that multiplayer match, i decided i should play the tutorial to see if there was some part of all this i was missing (besides practice). While going through it i noticed the facility the tutorial’s story takes place in is named after Sgt. Johnson, which i thought was a cool detail. Another cool detail i liked was that there is a bit where you pick up your companion AI, and the whole way it’s laid out it’s made out to be like this is your AI. Which to me felt really cool and personal. One thing i wish they’d do though is open the customization options up to Forge, or at least open up the options that only the player can see. It’d be sick too be able to make your own AI using by adjusting the pitch and stuff (similar to how the armor cores work), or alternatively make your own entirely from scratch using sound clips online.
