I’m afraid Europe can’t and won’t let go of their big trade partner as long as China keeps a ‘low profile’ in the war. We are supporting our side much more then China supports their side. China might lie about their support of Russia, but I think secret service agents and government officials know the extent of Chinese involvement. But it’s a good thing media is putting pressure on western governments.
So far it’s been contained by hitting supply routes between the two. The rail line in particular is vulnerable due to the terrain it runs through.
I suspect the China is quite happy to sell arms, but doesn’t want to actually enter the war.

Do you mean trade between China and Russia is being sabotaged? If so, by who? Isn’t their border like 1,000s of km long?
Kind of makes sense. Same mentality in China and Russia. And then we have Trump for the USA with similar mentality but hopefully temporary.
If not, Europe will be on its own against a world of insane so-called leaders.
Europe might find a bunch of small allies all over the world though, democracies hanging on thight against autocratic bullies. We, the people of all free countries, just need to stick together as much as possible.
I think it’s a bit reductionist to say “similar mentalities”. They’re both authoritarian states, but that’s pretty much where it ends.
Putin’s Russia is all about reviving the Russian Empire and reliving past glories. China is capitalist through and through. They want to own world trade. As such they do not share goals, and if there is an alliance it will be a utilitarian one and probably short lived after it’s usefulness has ended.
