This is only partially for the US. Climate change denial exists in the EU too and those voices have only become more powerful recently, because of recent national elections and the last EP election. Some of those voices are of course bankrolled by the Heritage Foundation etc., which is where cat->tail.

Anyhow, there are plenty of people who are more happy to build out EU dependence on foreign fossil fuels from dictatorships rather than strengthen the EU wind industry.
