I’ll write something here later probably. In the meantime, hi to whoever’s reading this I hope you get a chance to enjoy something kind today :)

Keep learning, keep trying new things, keep seeking out the perspectives of others (outside of these coworkers of course).
The older people I know who aren’t stubborn and slowing down are the ones who follow the above.
Fish are friends, not food.
Ooblets!
Take a cross between Pokémon and Stardew Valley, make the fights dance battles, and toss in some Slime Rancher aesthetics and you have Ooblets.
When you win a dance battle, instead of catching the critter you pet them and they fart out a seed that you plant and grow into your own buddy. It’s genuinely delightful.
There’s an American comedian, Gary Gulman, who has a joke something along the lines of “Pop Tarts were invented as a way to say ‘fuck you’ to poor people.”
They are objectively terrible; given mainly to the children whose parents did not have the time to make them breakfast, or could not afford a better meal. Fondness for them comes from nostalgia, most likely.
As much as I hate to say this in response to your comment, self diagnosis is valid.
Mostly the context is for people without resources, however, so your point is fair. Taking away validity for marginalized groups’ experiences is at risk with that stance though.
Thanks if you read this and I hope you have a great day otherwise. /gen
Getting the giant nuke, finding the highest fuckoff corner to perch on and then unleashing holy hell on the rest of the map was the highlight of UT99 to be honest
Diglett/dugtrio is a pretty easy one
Accidentally going the right way is so infuriating.
Amusing AND educational. I love this place - top comment came from a place of understanding instead of being a snarky first-to-the-post one-liner.
Hopefully OOP achieved his goal and/or found some relief.
“Digital media” is a hell of a weird way of saying “capitalism”
“Trumpers” will continue to support the rancid Cheeto-in-a-cheap-suit so long as he continues to do things that will hurt people they don’t like.
It doesn’t even matter if it hurts them anymore; as long as their hate gets enacted then they’ll make that sacrifice.
The only thing he could do to lose their support is express positive things about minorities and suggest UBI, considering the backlash he got for suggesting vaccines could be a good thing some years ago.
Oonga boonga brain says “survive” in majority circumstances ¯\(ツ)/¯
If you’re starving and have a melon in front of you, brain probably says find a way to open and eat it.
If you’re starving, have a melon, and a person with better survival skills nearby, you’re probably going to want to befriend them.
To try to determine/posit the individual moral “nature” of a social species is silly. (◕‿◕✿)
I have one bio parent I can do that with, and I know I’m privileged to have that. To be able to confide, ask questions, seek advice, break down, or even just play cards together provides a certain level of mental safety I didn’t experience otherwise.
I only hope I can provide even a fraction of that to others; everybody deserves safe people.
McCarthyism, Southern Strategy, three letter agencies spending decades actively targeting/murdering activists; yeah it’s been rough.
Excuse you that is my emotional support Switch. It helps me feel better knowing I have the option to play if shit goes sideways, and tbf it has a couple times and those games came in handy to pass the time.
It’s like part of having a Swiss army knife or a first aid kit; if the day goes well you don’t need it but it helps way more if you have it on hand ¯\(ツ)/¯
It starts with dissociation and eventually evolves into derealization and depersonalization before you know it ♪~ ᕕ(ᐛ)ᕗ
Theoretically you can spin up a used thinkpad from a yard sale and run steam. Nintendo doesn’t (legally) run on anything that’s not Nintendo branded ¯_(ツ)_/¯
For me personally, anything times 5 can be reached by halving the number, then multiplying that number by 10.
Example: 66 x 5 = Y
(66/2) x (5x2) = Y
cancel out the division by creating equal multiplication in the other number
66/2 = 33
5x2 = 10
33 x 10 = Y
33 x 10 = 330
Y = 330
EndeavourOS club! Gorgeous blend between granular control and reasonably configured initial guardrails for a willing-to-learn new Arch user.
I played around with other distros too, before settling into this one. Haven’t looked back after 2-3 years of use.
