If we lose the meaning of the word NAS then we can’t effectively talk about it. And enough new people are coming in and being taught that a NAS is the thing that runs Plex that it’s sometimes impossible to have a conductive conversation.
For me it’s not about what else I can run on it. I want my services separated from my storage devices. If I throw everything into one physical machine it takes everything down if something goes wrong. It’s also harder to do upgrades without needing to replace entire machines
And as usual everyone is saying NAS, but talking about servers with a built in NAS.
I’m not saying you can’t run your services on the same machine as your NAS, I’m just confused why every time there’s a conversation about NASs it’s always about what software it can run.
I don’t think this is at all to do with that. This is sociopathy mixed with greed. He hid his mother’s body so he could run the pension scam in addition to his property portfolio.
The whole point of jellyfin/Plex is to provide a feature rich UI for your video files on your hard drive. This is walking back from that to the point that you may as well just use vlc and map network drives on windows. Heck, just carrying around a SSD full of videos is easier than this.

It definitely depends on the job. I work in TV and live events. If your late you either miss the pre production meeting, or we all have to wait for you to start. If your later than that you are holding the team up and making people work harder to be ready by on-air time.
I disagree that the responsibly of an accident falls on what other people wanted you to do. What if you had to take someone to hospital and the same accident occurred? Is it the fault of the person that needed to go to hospital? What if you need to rush out to help a family member in distress? Would it be their fault for being in distress?
I think it’s not a good analogy for responsibility. Sometimes car accidents happen and you can’t pin that on “it’s not my fault because I didn’t actually want to go to the place I’m driving”
There is a possible version of windows that is good and that people want. It’s a just a shame that Microsoft isn’t interested it making it.
As someone who grew up on windows, I’m willing to stay with it for as long as I can make it like that version. I don’t want Mac, and Linux doesn’t support enough (still, but maybe one day)

Then how do you manage the type of people who just want control over as much a possible to stroke their own ego while doing a terrible job or pushing their own agenda?
Surely it’s better for unmoderated pages to prune themselves, leaving only ones with enough interest to survive.
I tended to go do some Golden Saucer stuff because I just wasn’t that interested in the crafting levels. I never really need anything crafted; playing solo the gear you get in msq is more than enough.
FFXIV
I’m a huge FF fan, and 14 has a lot of praise so I had a go. I enjoyed FFXI somewhat so I thought maybe 14 would be enjoyable, but no matter how long I stuck around I just couldn’t figure out if it was fun. I spent a lot of time making number go up, but when I stepped away from the computer I felt like I hadn’t achieved anything.
I played through the base game. The first expansion. Began the second expansion. I reflected on my experience and I couldn’t even tell you what the game was about. It’s just walk here, click an NPC, walk there click an NPC, fight battle, repeat. And the battles are so boring; the expectation is that you learn the ideal rotation of attacks and abilities and you just apply that to 99% of battles and make sure to do them efficiently - if you can’t do that you are labelled a noob.
Maybe the difference between 11 and 14 was that I did 11 with a friend, so it felt like I was spending time with him, whereas I did 14 by myself.

While we are at it, we can retire the letter “C” too. K and S can cover everything that isn’t a “ch” sound, so we will replace c with whatever the “ch” letter is.

Serious question: if something is “finished” why would that spark removal. At some point a lot of complete programs will no longer be actively maintained but they are still useful and working.
Also, is there a way to keep copies of things like this? I know how to install via apt install, and whatnot, but that relies on an internet connection and a repo. I’m used to windows where I can back up the installers on my hard drive.
That’s right, circle was accept because drawing a circle in Japanese is their equivalent to a tick, x is cancel like a cross, I think the square was supposed to look like a piece of paper, I can’t remember what the triangle symbolised.
