People forget that not everyone on Lemmy are from the States, because where I am from leftists are usually really anti-gun.

I guess it depends, where I work that’s all I see…

Appart from the fact that they are not in fact roddents, both the german and norwegian names already make more sense than french. We call them “chauve-souris”, so literally “bald mice”.
Thanks, as a non native english speaker, TIL that I also pronounced it wrong the whole time…

Wait until this guy hears about a certain genre called black metal…
You say that, but I wonder who was the target audience because I am not aware of anybody I know liking it. Appart from some kids who liked the bright colours and the childish Farrel humor, but clearly they don’t get all the meaning of the movie (and most adult jokes). I am a man, feminist and I hated it with a passion. My girlfriend and my women friends, all feminists, did not like it. My more apolitical friends thought it was just ok at best. It’s a “white liberal girlboss” type of feminism that is too shallow for people really invested in this subject, and at the same time too obvious and in your face for anti-woke warriors. It felt like it was just a 2 hours long advertisement for Matel.
This and The Joker are the two movies that come to mind when this type of question comes up. Inception is not particularly bad, just so… correct. I was expecting something really mindbinding, that would make me rethink about it long after the movie was over. It was just a pretty scenery with mid acting. No amount of practical effect can carry a movie on his own. The Joker on the other hand was just a waste of my time and left me infuriated.
Actually this is the interpretation I got lol

Glad you liked it ! I think this band is a little bit of a hidden gem. Their albums “The Goat of Mendes”, “Words That Go Unspoken, Deeds That Go Undone” and “Antichrist” are really worth checking out.

Such a tough question because I want to shout out songs across multiple subgenres. Death Grips - No Love, Primus - Frizzle Fry (especially the ending), Quo Vadis - Silence Calls the Storms, Rage Against the Machine - Settle for Nothing, Soundgarden - Jesus Christ Pose, Denzel Curry - Ultra (feat Yung Kane , Nell , Slikk , Rell), Vivaldi’s Summer 3rd Movement and half of the Acid Bath or Ulcerate catalog. If I have to settle for one song though I think I would go for :
Ahab - Old Thunder
However, if I can choose a particular snipet of a song that I think is the heaviest thing I have ever heard period, I would go for Akercocke - Leviathan, between the marks of 3:30 and 4:00. I was legit scared first time I heard that. You gotta listen to it from the beggining though because that build up is insane.

Ouhhh that’s interesting. I love Horrified, it is one of my favourite game, but unfortunately I often end uo quaterbacking while I would prefer people sharing their thoughts. Will check this one out for sure, thanks for the suggestions !

I guess it is better to go for games that are cooperative and where everyone can contribute how they can without pressure. So I would suggest strategy games where everyone decides together what to do and all the players are united against the game, but in a way that it’s harder to put the blame on someone if they fail to do what’s expected of them (Ex : Hanabi). Here are some of my favourites that corresponds to this :
Pandemic
Horrified
Forbidden Desert

Not really cause then it would be “pommes de la terre”.
For the record, some of us also use the word “patate” which is straight up the equivalent of potato.

I mean they were nominated four times at the grammy’s of which they won one, can’t get more recognized by the mainstream than that…

So many artists, but as a huge metalhead here are two who IMO deserve way more light.

There is a nuance between knowing that no revolution was made without arms and “loving guns”… If I ever have to use one, I know I won’t love it.
