Just to clarify a little bit (I was a little confused myself):

Postal was developed by the studio Goonswarm. The publisher Running With Scissors cancelled their games release because of the AI claims, and in response the developers have closed their studio, probably due to the financial strain of having your game completely cancelled by your publisher.

“After revealing POSTAL: Bullet Paradise, a title Running With Scissors was planning on publishing but not developing, we’ve been overwhelmed with negative responses from our concerned POSTAL Community,” reads a statement from Running With Scissors founder Vince Desi, emailed to RPS this afternoon. "The strong feedback from them is that elements of the game are very likely AI-generated and thus has caused extreme damage to our brand and our company reputation.

“We’ve always been, and will always be, transparent with our community,” Desi continues. "Our trust in the development team is broken; therefore, we’ve killed the project. We have a lot of good things coming (some you know and some you don’t).

“Since forming Running With Scissors in 1996, we’ve always said that our fans are part of the team,” it concludes. “Our priority is to always do right by the millions who support the POSTAL franchise. We are grateful for the opportunity to make the games we want to play, and will continue to focus on our new projects and updates coming in 2026 and beyond. We can’t wait to share more!”

Postal: Bullet Paradise was once “a timeline-hopping, dystopian bullet heaven first-person shooter with POSTAL’s signature darkly humorous personality”. The project is “no longer available” on Steam, though it still has a page as of writing.

Desi’s statement doesn’t mention which elements of the game may have been AI-generated, or whether they’ve taken any steps to confirm this with Goonswarm.

It seems like the publisher hasn’t done much to work with the devs, finding the true story instead of reacting to knee-jerk public opinions, and has just pulled the rug out from under them to protect themselves instead.

The devs have adamantly insisted there is no AI in their work; and if true, this really really sucks.

Leaking valve stem, or less likely a cracked rim. A 5$ fix while the tires were off; but more work just to fix on it’s own. If it’s a slow leak you keep ontop of, you may as well wait till the next tire rotation; make sure you request they replace the valve stem(s).

Not a biologist, not something I study, just a passing thought:

I would guess a large number of venomous animals are also poisonous, because you’d be ingesting their venom. Probably not always the case; you’re not always eating the venom containing parts, and it my not be poisonous unless injected into the bloodstream/tissue. But that’s what my intuition tells me. 🤷

I was so excited for Oculus right up until it was bought by Facebook. I didn’t have the funds right away and had been waiting, but I immediately wrote it off the day that news broke.

I can understand being upset about entirely new content, AI deepfakes for example; but this content was created and distributed to the public, intentionally, with the consent of the individuals that are filmed within it. It’s just been transformed into a different format; arguably, in a creative and educational manner. (the same way something like a ‘Family Guy funny moments’ compilation is)

If you didn’t want people looking at your nude body, why did you perform nude scenes in front of a camera, knowing it’d be distributed to the public…

The self-hosting part was mostly about total control over my own systems and less about the paid features. It’s very much not necessary.

As far as pro features go, It was the TOTP authenticator integration that was kind of important to me. ~20% of my accounts have TOTP 2fa, and bitwardens clients will automatically copy the latest 2fa code into the clipboard when filling a password.

Bitwarden will even tell you if a saved account could have 2fa (the service offers it), but it’s not setup/saved in bitwarden atm.

I currently have 110 unique user+password combos. I wouldn’t want to change all those even once, if I were breached and had used similar credentials everywhere.

Bitwarden keeps them well managed, synced between devices, and allows me to check the whole database for matches/breaches via haveibeenpwned integration. Plus because I prefer to keep things in-house as much as possible, I even self-host the server with vaultwarden walled off behind my own vpn, instead of using the public servers. (this also means it’s free, instead of a paid service)

Wrap the pj pant leg tightly around your ankle, put socks over top, then pull on the next layer of pants.

Keeps the pj’s in-place so they don’t ride up your legs or stick out from under your regular pant legs, plus it stops the breeze blowing up your pant legs makin’ your ankles/shins chilly.

Pyjama pants stay on under the jeans when I get out of bed, then multiple layers: shirt, hoodie, sweater/jacket. Add/remove layers as-needed.

Unless I’m staying home for the day, then it’s just pj pants and a hoodie all day.

I feel horrible for the kids, they get forced to follow their parents mind-boggling stupidity.

Derek and DeAnna on the other hand are adults who thought out, planned, and followed through with their idiocy.

Politics aside; how could you possibly think moving your family to a country that’s actively at war with its immediate neighbor, and struggling to find bodies to throw on the front lines, is even remotely a good idea.

It touches on the fact that Derek Huffman ended up sent to the front lines in the war against Ukraine, and for a while there were rumors he’d died there.

I would genuinely be more surprised to hear they were left to live peacefully.
