If money is the only motivation, and especially if some part of the job is demotivating for you (maybe ethically speaking), then I’d count that as burnout. Remember, they can never pay you what you’re worth, because then there’d be no profit for them to leech. Also, the corporate entity has no morality. It’s just a machine.

Because a surprising number of people are willing to pay what they ask, so they keep asking them to pay more… and they do, apparently. I don’t get it. But, it’s what some people want.

I use NoScript and uBlock. For this page, there are eighteen different scripts that want to run, but I only allow the two that seem necessary for basic functionality.
Apart from using Tor and allowing zero scripts to run, we have little hope of even pseudo-anonymity on the internet, and increasingly in our every-day lives.
We, as a people, tolerate the surveillance state as long as they increase the surveillance incrementally over generations, distract us with shiny toys, and keep us fighting amongst ourselves over irrelevant subjects.

Split days off sucks, from personal experience, don’t do that. Two days together off in the middle of the week is good if you don’t care about a social life.

Linux IS good, and today, the “paradigm shift” is more like a gentle learning curve with people holding your hand every step.
I’m an old geezer who made the jump a year ago, it really isn’t hard. Literally, the only thing I miss is the big preview window in the file manager. Big previews for all of the major formats is a big plus for Windows, but not one that kept me on their side.
