If you’re purely referring to ‘female’ as a noun, I do have a similar intuition about ‘female’ (noun) vs. ‘woman’, but it has little to do with objectification and more to do with ‘female’ generally being used in a biological sense, specifically non-human animals.

As an adjective, ‘female’ is pretty neutral, though.

I’ve never heard of a gender/sex distinction between ‘woman’ and ‘female’, what are you basing this on? By whom is this distinction ‘supposed’ (as you put it) to be a thing?

I doubt the general public would agree, anyway. In the Cambridge Dictionary, I find ‘female’ defined as ‘belonging or relating to women or girls’

You may of course argue your definition of ‘female’ should be the correct one, but it’s not the common one at the moment. I would think it’d be strange, though, if you couldn’t refer to a trans woman as ‘female’, which your distinction seems to imply.

I disagree. Hungary and Poland going utterly authoritarian came before America. If anything, they are parallel processes going on in Europe and the US.

Quite funny, in the Netherlands they are also known as „Vlaamse friet”, so Flemish. If I remember correctly they were taken to the Netherlands by Belgian refugees in the First World War, so that explains why they’re called that.

They’re now generally seen as Dutch here, though. And you only really see „Vlaamse friet” in advertising, because it sounds a bit more interesting. The common names are friet(jes) and patat (there’s a war going on between these two).

America has always been an aggressive state - the only thing that has changed are the targets. But this is perfectly „American”.

That remains to be seen… I really don’t have a clue what would happen if Trump would really give the command to attack Greenland, noone really can know I think.

Like with Ukraine you’d think if attack plans were really serious and in an advanced stage, European leaders would be aware. Though with Ukraine it was the US warning of Russian troop buildups…

You don’t mean this, do you? The EU attacking the military on which their individual armies depend, the greatest military of the largest economy on earth, would be incomprehensibly stupid. It’s utter fantasy, anyway. A dystopian fantasy that would involve more Europeans dying than Americans, that is if it wouldn’t devolve into nuclear war.
