  • JSON would be perfect if it allowed for comments. But it doesn’t and that alone is enough for me to prefer YAML over JSON. Yes, JSON is understandable without any learning curve, but having a learning curve is not always bad. YAML provides a major benefit that is worth the learning curve and doesn’t have the issues that XML has (which is that there is no way to understand an XML without also having the XSD for it)

  • We had a management course in the university where this was one of the main things they highlighted:

Managers faults are the managers fault.
Employees faults are the managers fault. Without exception.

And if you think about it, that’s completely true. If an employee does something stupid, it’s most of the time because they a) had the opportunity to do it and b) they weren’t taught well enough. If the employee keeps doing this mistake, the manager is at fault because he allows the employee to do the job where he can make the mistake. He obviously isn’t fit for that position.

  • I went to a mattress boutique and ordered my mattress there. I would never do it differently again, I love it every night. The saleswoman took great care of trying the different mattresses to see which one had the backs of my girlfriend and I in the best positions and whenever I’m back from a trip I feel again the greatness of my mattress

  • It’s the amount of money that makes it worth it. If they are successfull the amount is usually something like $10,000-$30,000. If they are only successful once every 2000 calls thats still worth it. Now you would say 2000 calls with 50 people in a call center means they are only successful once every few days and you are totally correct. But you have to put this into consideration with what they are usually paid. If you work in IT for huge companies like Accenture or McKinsey you will earn around 8-10k if you are in upper management and 6-8k if you are a normal worker. That’s yearly. So every successful scam for these scam companies pays up to 5 peoples yearly salary
