  • besides cars mass energy storage isnt available for all countries yet, so you need a way to balance grids. green energy resources doesnt have the ramp up required when energy usage spikes(e.g people get back from work). we dont suddenly put out more sun, make faster rivers or purposely make stronger winds for power. you balance the spike with the dirtier energy. so you often run into a situation where once green, a majority of your energy can be green, but you always have to reserve space for spike usage.

  • dont expect much from the machine performance wise given its specs (basically assume about ps5 performance)

the vr headset though is actually the more interesting product when it comes to effort put into it.

curious to see how much the snapdragon 8 gen 3 handles linux arm to x86 performance. ive seen the same chipset for android arm to x86 performance (see arm based chinese handhelds like Ayn Odin, using game native/game hub)

pitching the headset as both a vr device and what is essentially a monitor/all in one is a choice.

  • the main thing you get back is a better cpu governor to manage power consumption on 2d games. Reviews like the Phawks points out that microsoft kinda handed it off to the handheld makers to optimize for battery life. So in the instances such as getting 8hours of battery life running dead cells because the system doesnt really need to push that much to run the game, the Windows handheld is stuck on a higher performance clock and has a significantly shorter battery life time.

This would be extremely visible if more lighter games are tested, which typically aren’t for reviews like this because its not really fun to show a bunch of games all hitting 60 if you cap framerate.
