Yes, I am.
And I’d suggest that you use a defense other than: “Their guy is as bad as our guy.”
Artist, theatrical performer, roller derby announcer, and former derby skater in the Midwest.
Single, childless, and married to my freedom and sense of adventure.

Electing someone who believes that we should have laws and enforce them is exactly what we should do.
That is an exceedingly euphemistic statement about Harris’ career.

I don’t need fake stories, myself.
To me, electing someone who is famous for prosecuting non-violent drug users and truants en masse when our government is becoming increasingly more fascist by the day seems incredibly ill-advised.
But this is America. Ill-advised is what we do. You drink the unhealthy, uber-sugary soda and just ignore how unhealthy it is because Coke slapped a picture of a Marvel superhero on the can. We’ve demonstrated that we care more about the packaging than the actual product.

TIL World of Warcraft is still a thing.
And goddamnit, yes, their staff should unionize.

This is going to be very helpful when I’m feeling nostalgic.

There’s plenty of combat. If you’ve played BG3 I imagine you’ll enjoy it.
The caveat is that it’s made by an indie studio, so the cutscenes aren’t AAA, but I think the game is amazing regardless, and that includes the expansion packs.

A few hidden gems I’ve played:

Solasta Crown of the Magister: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1096530/Solasta_Crown_of_the_Magister/
Tower of Time: https://store.steampowered.com/app/617480/Tower_of_Time/

The Dark Pictures Anthology - Man of Medan: https://store.steampowered.com/app/939850/The_Dark_Pictures_Anthology_Man_of_Medan/
I hope you like them all as much as I did.

Fighting Fantasy books

Same.
I’ve paid $10 for spotify every month for years and it’s always been a great service and the algorithm does a good job of finding me new music that I like.
But most of this stuff can be pirated or bought piecemeal without bothering with a subscription.
And that’s what we’ll do when it gets out of hand, as we all know it will.
I love Next Fest… but I’m really waiting for the Halloween sale on horror games.

Truly open-world Star Wars. Like a Breath of the Wild game except with multiple planets and all the Star Wars stuff.
We had something close to it with SW: Galaxies, but… RIP SW: Galaxies.

I loved Resident Evil but it was the third one that really got me, with the havoc in the streets and the scare where you realize Nemesis can literally chase you from room-to-room and/or show up literally anywhere at any time.

Dead Space still scares the hell out of me.

FEAR was so darn good.

I actually have a 3E diorama of from the opening level hanging in my condo. I replay it once or twice a year. Still holds up.

I’d say Dark Souls 2.
When you get to the area with the bazillion spitting statues that respawn when you do, it became very clear that Fromsoft was out of ideas for making the game both interesting AND challenging.

Good.
One of my good friends was one of the voices on LA Noire years ago and gets zero residuals from it. It’s maddening.

The worst one I can remember is Final Fantasy 8.
But also the UI was so complicated and bad that it made me hate the game.

That’s what Solasta did. (Developer: Tactical Adventures)
Then we got two more fully-fleshed adventures as DLC’s, which I was more than happy to buy.
Find good developers and then (if you can) pay full price so they can keep making great, microtransaction-free games.
The original Resident Evil was pretty revolutionary and terrifying for me, but the 100% scariest I’ve played is the original Dead Space.
More recently, The Outlast Trials is really good, and I would HIGHLY recommend any of the Dark Pictures Anthology games, but my favorite is Man of Medan.
