No they don’t. You can always install them in a distrobox, or layer them, or just copy them into your home. It’s Linux, you’re free to choose which way you like.

How does it not make sense? They already give a warranty for the repair (which you seem to think is unreasonable). At this point we’re only discussing the length of the warranty.
Okay, but Valve does give some warranty for repairs, so why does that matter?
Did they actually remake everything in UE5? I thought they only use that for rendering, with all the logic still running in the original engine.
No, that’s not true. All current models use output from previous models as part of their training data. You can’t solely rely on it, but that’s not strictly necessary.
That shit was fire! I learned a bunch of art stuff from it, often I’d make something based on what they show and give it to my grandparents. Awesome stuff.
Though this would have been much easier with streaming - back then I had to try and remember all the important details on first watch, which almost never worked!
It’s also fairly reasonable in my eyes. Is Valve not confident their repair will actually work & last those 12 months at least?
No, it’s “Star-Trek-guarantee”.
It missed the final sentence
Nope! AFAIK Unreal is only used for rendering, not logic. So you’ll get the bugs from Bethesdas engine with the performance of Unreal 5.
All “atomic” distros I’ve encountered allow booting into previous versions, so this is simply not an issue.
You are technically correct about “atomic” and “immutable”, but you’re missing that e.g. the Fedora images use the wording “atomic” to refer to their update procedure, and they implement this using an immutable system. Nobody here is misusing these terms, because they are both applicable in this context.
On a dev station, it’s a nightmare.
I’ve been very happy with it on my dev stations, definitely hasn’t been a nightmare!
Nah, I heavily disagree. It’s amazing for developers too, and they are explicitly part of the target demographic - not just of the normal variants, there’s even special developer-targeted images like Aurora.
Steel is heavier than feathers
I think I can help you with that 😏 though I can’t get much airtime, sorry.
I mean, if you insist…
I especially like the casual swipe at GNOME, they deserve it!
Don’t ever make the mistake of giving your phone number to a US company. I did that when I started my new job and didn’t have a company phone number yet, since then I’ve been getting daily spam.
I had never thought about the reproductive cycles of grand pianos, fascinating
