But when did you set Authy up? I don’t recall when Authy made the change, but it wouldn’t kick you out. It would, however, prevent you from signing in a new device. So if you lose your phone, you might lose access to those tokens…
CalyxOS relocks the bootloader and they supported the FP5 right after launch.
CalyxOS is not a hardened OS, and GrapheneOS requires more than than just relocking the bootloader.
Fairphone’s devices do not meet basic security requirements for hardware, firmware and the software device support including drivers. Please look at the hardware requirements at https://grapheneos.org/faq#future-devices and check for yourself how many of those are provided by the Fairphone. Even the Fairphone 5 has a CPU core from 2021 without even PAC and BTI.

Depends on what you’re looking for…and what you mean by “Android.” As in solely AOSP? Or any of the derivatives to include OEM ones? If done right, Android can be more secure than desktop OS, so it actually might be the best distro, depending on what you’re looking for.

I don’t know what “features” Amazon would include that aren’t somehow directly tied into their store and ease of shopping…aka “crap.” It’s not like they would build a better video/audio driver or something. It would all just be more…advertising and analytics, probably on a cheap platform as hardware has never been their largest source of income, to include Kindles (AWS is, last I checked). Strip those two out of their build and we have essentially an untouched kernel lol, at least that’s how I see it happening.

Like I said, Android 14 is out, it’s just not out (and might not ever be out) for an EoL device. The 4a lost Google support 2ish months ago, and GOS even says you shouldn’t use it. I’ll third this. Main thing I miss is Tap-to-Pay, but it’s not that hard to carry a card. Some people miss Android Auto, but I’ve never used it.
So I’ll trade some very minor conveniences for increased security and privacy.
And much more? Can you elaborate on how NextDNS does “much more” than PiHole? PiHole is a DNS server, not an adblocker, though most people use it in that capacity.

Not quite. From LibreTube’s GitHub page on their differences:
With NewPipe, the extraction is done locally on your phone, and all the requests sent towards YouTube/Google are done directly from the network you’re connected to, which doesn’t use a middleman server in between. Therefore, Google can still access information such as the user’s IP address. Aside from that, subscriptions can only be stored locally.
LibreTube takes this one step further and proxies all requests via Piped (which uses the NewPipeExtractor). This prevents Google servers from accessing your IP address or any other personal data.
Either way, I use a VPN for both.

If you’re somewhat familiar with uBlue, Bazzite, and immutables, I’d go with Bluefin (Gnome) or Aurora (KDE). All three are uBlue / based off Fedora, so you don’t have to learn a 2nd OS while working on your current OS (Bazzite).
