  • TLDW: Foxhole allows the environment to change in ways other games don’t (snow causing direct death, visibility problems, rain causing mud which slows units down etc. ), and also providing options for dealing with these environmental concerns, gives off a realistic war feeling. This in combination with the fact that foxhole allows and requires players to participate in all aspects of fighting a war (material extraction, weapon manufacturing, transport manufacturing, transportation, building of defenses, actual fighting), help provide a feeling of participating in a war that other milsims don’t show.

Admittedly, I feel like this game doesn’t satisfy what people are looking for in a milsim. Foxhole is a top down shooter, while most milsims are over the shoulder 3rd person or 1st person with a huge focus on tactics and execution. Foxhole seems to pull out a bit more, still allowing tactics planning and execution, but overal strategy and logistics are also added into the game.

  • How does this work exactly? My familiarity with Unions is that either they’re created inside an existing company, or a union gets people to unionize at a company. The idea with both of this situations is that all the workers leaving would be detrimental for the company so the company has to give into the Union Demands to some extent.

With my unfamiliarity with with this video game union, it seems they’ve just created one, but wouldn’t that mean that a company has to decide to hire workers from this union? My understanding with the game industry is there’s thousands of experienced people that will work for cheap, so I feel most game companies will have options vs union workers.

Also, I hope they publish the games they are involved in so i can support them.

  • Idk. I now recommend getting cheap tools first until they either break( from usage) or their bad quality is a noticeable and active hindrance. From there buy better quality. I also suggest buying ALL the tools you need. Sometimes, you think you can make it work with some alternatives and don’t want to get the specialized tool. I feel that I usually end up spending more time dealing with the problem and getting more stressed out.

Example of the latter: dealing with my drum breaks with just pliers. Uninstalling was a breeze, but installing was a huge pain. The cheapest specialty tools made my life so much better, and used them several times. I notice their janky, but they still work good enough to get the job done.

  • You’re talking about the negative results, but the important point is who is attributed as causing them or the reason behind them. If there’s record inflation, I can imagine a situation where MAGAs believe it’s for a good reason, or because woke caused it or something. Remember, people died with covid, in complete disbelief of it because of conservative spin.

I’m hoping people wake up, but who knows how far we must fall before they do. Jan 6 and COVID I thought were those points. But here we are at depths unimaginable, and accelerating.

In regards to oligarchs, look how bad things are in other countries. Russia is an example where people have less rights, freedoms and money than us yet they aren’t rebelling. We can still reach that point sadly. I hope you’re right that people wake up and become angry way before they point.
