Kinda. I recently got a shield pro to replace my roku. Customization, and no ads are nice, but for what it cost, what a fucking piece of shit. Hard freezee that require unplugging is the main issue, but it also doesn’t respond to remote presses frequently on start up. Takes 30+ seconds sometimes before the remote works.

For more than double the cost it shoukd blow the roku ultra away in every sense. And I shouldn’t have to adb hack it to install a custom launcher.

It’s still working for me. But I’ve been using plexamp a lot more lately instead.

Don’t install system apps that come installed by default? And can’t be removed without rooting your phone. I mean I disabled it but most people don’t know to do that even if they don’t use it.

I think playlet is what I used on roku. Not as nice as smarttube as you can’t log in I don’t think, but you can still subscribe and stuff, just doesn’t transfer between devices. Personally didn’t really use it, just set up for my wife.

Balatro and dead cells

I got burnt out after treating WoW like a full time job for multiple years, while having a full time job. Ever since my PC is connected to the TV. Sitting at a desk isn’t relaxing. So PC or console, it’s from the comfort of my recliner with a controller.

I don’t recall if it was mandatory during setup or not. I can control it locally when the internet is down, at least from the wall, I don’t think the app would work. But again, I wanted the remote features so I didn’t even try to set it up without an account.

Home assistant may work as well, but I don’t use it.
