WHAT. Does this do both sudo apt update and sudo apt upgrade?

Got 'em!
I feel like no OS can get sleep to work properly lol

…so hierarchy ensures abuse of [its] power.
Very well put.
I have a discussion with my wife every so often about what our own little utopian island would be like, like how the government would be, how roads would be managed, what homes would be like, etc. I brought up the other day this exact point about how if there’s a position of wealth and power at the top controlling too much, then sociopths would gravitate towards that for the same of having power and wealth, which ruins the government system. It would have to be a heavily distributed system of government, but too distributed where it would make it difficult to implement standardizations, get stuff done, etc.
Idk how that would work exactly, because then you’d also have to make sure no greedy, power hungry Trump-likes get into a position with too much power. There has to be a way, though.

ITT: A lot of people who have no clue what ODD is.

Yeah, I would not be surprised if they tried to escalate “Trump Derangement Syndrome” to this level.

The red scare is a huge factor that continues to this day.

I do enjoy dull men’s club

Welp, that attitude is why the written portion of English hasn’t updated in a long time and is why it’s so bad. Also, English is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, wild to call it useless lol.

Maybe we can develop our own Lemmy update to written English?

Interesting, I never thought of it from the perspective of AI before.
EDIT: I’m not saying it’s effective in fighting against AI, I just didn’t know about this being a/the reason for doing this and it’s interesting. Before, I just started seeing it pop up everywhere for seemingly no reason. At least there’s logic, albeit flawed, behind it’s origins.

I think there’s a lot of change in written English that needs updating. I think the thorn is lowest priority, if not completely unnecessary lol
I thought they did it once and then tried it again like a year or two later or something.
QA turnover:
“Alright looks like everyone is a go-”
Dev: “Hold on, wait a minute. We may have found something.”
everyone waiting, wtf is happening
Dev: “Yeah we just found a new bug and we can replicate it, we’re a no go until this bug is fixed.”
“Well alrighty then, good meeting everyone.”

No longer a teen, but I remember liking the information laid out by https://www.bls.gov/ooh/
It broke down stats around career prospects, the education requirements to get into that career, the outlook of future job prospects in that career, etc. I didn’t really care too much about what job I worked, just that I had one, and then I could at least enjoy my life outside of it comfortably. I found a few that seemed interesting to me and worked to those. I think having it all laid out for them would be helpful for them to make their own informed decisions.
I very much so enjoyed their content where they attempted Linux only for 30 days straight. They documented their successes, struggles, and roadblocks. I think they did two different attempts, the first time they didn’t recommend it and the second time they did. I might be misremembering the first attempt.
Same, I was incredibly impressed that installing Linux ended up getting them a masters degree in business admin, and then realized they meant Macbook Air. I was let down a little, but still happy to see life of technology extended further.

That is a dream for me. Thowe pads are the best from what I hear, but they’re so expensive! I haven’t tried itgmania, just mainly stepmania. Tried outfox a long time ago, though it might be different now and I should probably give that another shot.
Do you have any customization on your StepManiaX pads? You can do stuff with the patterns it shows when pressing a panel, yeah?
Your note is very interesting about the difference between the commands and how autoremove will automatically remove stuff before or after the upgrade is performed. Should it always be done after, or are there instances when running it before is more beneficial? Is there any need to do both like this:
# sudo apt --update --autoremove upgrade -y && sudo apt autoremove -y
