recently really been enjoying van neistat vids(brother of casey neistat), louis rossman(tech/complaning about companies), vihart(old math vids) and martincinopants(well made gaming content)

not sure why but my mental health gets way better when i use my laptop.

im a zoomer so i started out on a phone and only got a laptop a few years ago, i thnk it might be because everytime i opened my phone i would just rot away and i just go back to those habits whenever i use my phone. when i started using a laptop my entire schedule changed and updated(for the better). and having a slow laptop is prob also good to avoid wasting too much time on video games lmao

i remember Michael Stevens saying in an interview with Anthony Padilla that the subway surfers gameplay concept isnt really new and we’ve been doing the same thing for ages, rather than subway surfers while listening to some bot read reddit posts, people were listening to their friends while looking at birds or animals at a zoo, or even getting heavily intoxicated to help converse with your friends.

and people have said that people are getting dumber but i think theyre just young let them grow up then compare. we have been laughing at stupid ass jokes, shitty songs and toilet humour since the beginning of time.

people from the 13th century might be saying that we’re lazy for not making our clothes by and settling for an inferior product made by machines, but in the grand scheme, does it really matter that much?

I think prob half of the people who give lemmy a chance, I think we’re just a vocal minority, most people who post on Reddit and the enthusiasts that give a damn about design and shit, so that’s why a ton of subs a going dark, but most of the people probably don’t care, some of them are still going to join lemmy(hence the 50%) but there just isn’t enough content

changing to lemmy has completely changed how it use this type of app, 70% of the posts were pics/vids, but here there’s a bigger focus of text and the amount of pics are closer to 20%
