They really want to enforce that quote. The cleverly as possible part doesn’t really apply. Let the idiot write the code and the more experienced person debug it. I feel like we’ve seen this with airline pilots already. Huge shortage mainly caused by retirement and regulation changes making it harder to get into the field. I guess their hope is by the time that happens with programmers AI doesn’t suck.
At least this won’t be true anymore.
I’d love to see self certification go away entirely. They do the same thing with motorcycle helmets.
NHTSA does not approve helmets, or any other motor vehicle equipment, instead relying on a self-certification process. However, we conduct tests on some helmets to make sure they meet our standard.
They release reports about those checks and a guy online aggregates them and they have a 43.9% failure rate as of 2023. With helmets we can just grab something with the DOT rating and one of the other ratings that aren’t self certified.
Had a Sony Ericsson W580i back in high school. It was a slide phone. 15 hours talk, 570 hours standby. That’s nearly 24 days of standby. I charged it maybe every two weeks. It was tiny(So not great in your hands I guess). We don’t need unwieldy huge phones for good battery life. Still had a basic browser and was part of the ‘Sony Walkman’ lineup so was a decent enough music player. Modern phones are just power hungry cause they have about ~12x the power of my first desktop computer.
Crap photo but shows many angles.
Every 20-30 minutes…
It’s US electrical in the post. The first link is only valid for US electrical but I’m sure similar things exist for other countries. The last link is just a cable channel. Nothing special, just looks nicer. They make thinner or wider variants.
Links are just easier than posting 15 images. Here’s the main images for both products.
That first link the top panel has a normal outlet in it but the bottom panel is a male plug. You have to use an extension cord to jump it over to an outlet which could be on your UPS.
Assuming you can cut into the wall… This is likely the cleanest option without doing electrical work.

If that extension cable jump isn’t up to the electric code they do make something similar where you can tie it into the hardwire as well. It doesn’t look like you have an outlet in the same stud section though. Which would make that harder.
Any remaining cables horizontally I’d just stuff in something like this above the trim at the bottom. You’d probably want to either source a black one or just paint it to match your walls.

I absolutely hated the platformer aspect of Eternal. I don’t want to have to perfectly time a chain of jumps or die…repeatedly. 2016 was an absolute blast.
