10·6 days agoOh, AGI isn’t for you. Its for the AI cultists to worship once they summon it. The AI cultists think they can control thier god, even thought it will be integrated into everything if it is truly super intelligent. Then they will realize that they didn’t learn from all of the dystopia Sci fi warning them about summoning their god.
Either that, or its all marketing bullshit.

Watching all the farmers on TikTok blame "Washington " for their current trade woes have taught me that they will not do one thing to change their political “views”. They will never vote for the market liberals.

Technology@lemmy.world•‘I miss old Google’: readers tell us how they search the internet in the age of AIEnglish
13·1 month agoThe worst part about Google search is that everything that is for sale comes first. I have looked for free alternatives that I know exist for work, only to be fed all the for profit alternatives first. Its aggravating.

5·2 months agoThe courts still need to weigh in on this. If you purchase a license to use the software, the company shouldn’t have the power to revoke that license without cause. The license should last as long as the copyright/patent/etc. does.

EMPs are cheap.
Anti drone guns exist.
General strikes that do real economic damage would work. They would round up the leaders and prosecute them as terrorist each time.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is AOC a big deal? She just speaks common sense and calls out absurdity. Have we really gone that far off the rails where we don't do it ourselves?
32·3 months agoThis country will never, ever vote a woman in as President. The “What I see as a leader” (sexism) runs too deep.

Technology@lemmy.world•Sony Abandons Social Media for 24 Hours+ After Controversially Killing Physical GamesEnglish
313·4 months agoTheir competition (Nintendo and Steam) already don’t have physical media. Nintendo is moving towards 100% Game Key cards, and Steam is all downloads. Playstation could have used physical media as a competitive advantage, but decided against it for cost reasons. So now this is the end of gaming physical media. The game sizes are just way too large.
