Jerboa, I was using Eternity by Bazalansky (Eternity is Infinity for Reddit but for… Lemmy) but it hasn’t been updated continuously, and I already had Jerboa as backup app just in case and it’s from the lemmy devs so it’s (for me) guaranteed to keep up with lemmy development

could you elaborate why? I’m curious

I hope libreddit doesn’t die or any of it’s instances because holy there’s so many games that I play that I look to Reddit for to see community stuff (while reddit isn’t exactly the full representation, a lot of the time, in my specific culture, there’s really no choice except twitter/x or… god forbid, facebook for such content), I wish I had free time to maintain and post about stuff but a game lurker doesn’t exactly ripe well for a community…

the AUR ideally should have a dedicated team of moderators of packages round the clock but archlinux is a community distro, and you really shouldn’t trust the AUR implicitly and treat it as literally downloading stuff from the internet through search because that’s what it does most of the time.

I do use AUR though, and only one (obs-studio-liberty) is not endorsed by the programs I use from it

I am a weird one and use KDE’s ghostwriter, I found it and just started using it on my linux desktop. I sync to my devices using KDE Connect, by file-sharing or clipboard sharing and use Quillpad on my phone, they all somehow work together.

I use techmino for my tetris needs but it’s not in F-Droid, but I think there’s a tetris clones wiki somewhere out there that is also available on android, currently there’s only blockdrop in f-droid, which is… i haven’t looked into it much, but it seems to not be my thing, at least when compared to techmino.

I look at the twitter (previously known as x the everything app) tweet and… there’s a lot of ‘wHy mAStoDOn?’ and yeah, its not perfect, there’s a lot of issues, some people are supporting Nostr (which even less people use!!! but, I am curious on what is the point is using one over the other, I am open to that but I dunno) but like, people who use LibreOffice and have a Mastodon Account have a large overlap but I do see where the Twitter people would still exist in that space. Still, I hope they still crosspost or something, as a major org, especially. These days, people use Twitter and see others (especially Bluseky) as weird, and Mastodon as ‘too complicated’ and everything else nonexistent, but hey, I still have a Twitter Account for Following Artists so… until Twitter collapses or something, yeah…

Yeah, as a hobbyist writer I’ve heard that a lot, and like… for me, it is way more ‘complete’ in terms of the creative work on my works if I’m out and about with the proletariat, working the salary, experiencing the same they do, even if it’s like fantasy fiction, I can’t explain why I feel this way but if I ever get ‘serious’ I wouldn’t want more than getting my needs met and maybe some repairs/cleaning in my home and stuff I own once in a while.

But my question to them I guess would be, how would they like to see their artwork handled in socialism and communism? In the USSR artists were employed by the state on salary to produce artworks, when it came to specific exhibitions or government campaigns. Would they be opposed to that? Art they produced through the artists’ union was typically bought by the state for a fixed one-time payment. Would they be opposed to that? The petit-bourgeois artists would.

I’m curious if you have more info on how people have implemented art/writing in AES states, is it only through like government programs that artists get salaries? Can you work on those without explicitly being on the state’s salary? I’d love to know.
