  • I did say fuck Nestle, didn’t I? I’m not really trying to advocate for them just from reading that excerpt I would be interested to know how much the company and its reps really knew about the drinking water situation.

Like, I’m very certain they didn’t do anything to help or to combat the problem, just curious if it was something they knew about and how it was handled. I can say for sure they’re evil and should have helped. It’s just I am thinking about who knew what and how much.

I guess it’s more of a thought and less of a defending them because I am not a big nestle fan. Although I do love their chocolate milk mix, reminds me of my childhood so I occasionally buy it because I’m a bad guy.

If you got money and really want something like it there’s eBay as an option potentially.

You’re looking for a Philco Television

Good luck! If you don’t have money to light on fire you might just have to accept the dream won’t become reality.

Some people also make art pieces either with or just as smaller reproductions. So that could be an option if you want something just aesthetically pleasing but still will be pricey.

Edit: I know that eBay link isn’t the exact same model but I’m like 99% it is a philco TV on the album cover

  • No, Trump imposed additional tariffs without reason on China. The only reason China raised tariffs, and by the way they literally stopped raising them because it’s pointless since they’re already so high, is because Trump started imposing them when he took office.

There already were trade agreements and tariffs in place negotiated with both countries input. These new tariffs were just slapped on by the Trump admin not as a reaction to anything but as a unilateral imposition.

You could also say they’re unilateral because they’re only aimed at China and no other states if you want to look at it that way too.

  • That article is really fuzzing up the definition of “poop,” I’d argue over half those entries are just how the thing poops weirdly. I guess if you get into semantics it may be technically true but I just consider pooping to be eliminating bodily waste so to me that whole article is like, “look how oddly these things poop.” 😅

  • I think he’s mostly banking on what comes after Trump assuming our democracy survives. That and if there were Americans on the ground in the country it may be an effective deterrent against Russian aggression just to have American bodies there that could get exploded and bring the USA into a shooting war on Ukraine’s side.

That’s my take on it anyways. Plus it could potentially be beneficial to both countries if the USA were to actually play ball and not be dickheads. Ukraine probably, idk I’m not an economist/read up that much, does not have all the equipment and men and experience to exploit all their mineral wealth. Bringing in American contractors to help isn’t the worst idea, it just needs to be done right for it to make sense.

  • When it comes to video games, idgaf if someone wants to give a game dev thousands of their own dollars because they want to pay an idiot tax.

It’s a free market, and we’re all free to just not play the fucking game. Actually that’s the default so just doing nothing is plenty.

I get what you’re saying but we’re not talking about groceries here, we’re talking about something that could literally cease to exist and aside from some folks maybe being out of work nobody would even notice or care. I do agree though that strong regulation is much better than expecting consumers to stop consuming something as long as it’s a necessary thing or something with quite inelastic demand (ie: medicine).

  • Nothing is bad about that, IF that was what was actually happening. Unfortunately, it very much is not.

I don’t have the time to go on explaining why upping taxes for everyone making under $500k isn’t catering to 99.999% of the population. Or how blowing up USAID and surprise Pikachu facing when farmers can’t sell their crops since they sold a lot to USAID (not to mention all the soft power USAID gets us and how useful it is to so many people here and abroad). Restricting access to news agencies is not “more freedom of speech” but rather suppression of it.

Idk you know there is a bunch more I could say but the reality is not at all what you’re painting with your comments.

  • As an American, I’d be upset if it happened. It’s bonkers to just be like, “oh other sovereign nation NBD you no longer exist,” absolute madness.

Besides we could just (re)negotiate the trade agreements we have in place which apparently are so bad. I wonder who did a bad job with them last time we changed the framework and name of NAFTA … Oh right the Trump admin.

There’s no good reason, in my point of view, we couldn’t have an equivalent to the EU for North and South America - freedom of movement, establishing standards, less friction when it comes to trade - but that would require some true visionaries with a lot of influence and power to work. I doubt it would come to be but I wouldn’t be upset if it happened.

Won’t someone please rid us of the meddling orange man and his sad lonely billionaire buddy.

  • Hopefully all 3 but as the other poster said, Nazis really were clowns.

Sure, Hitler had some early successes militarily - combined arms blitzkrieg was a new deal and effective - but it’s not like that won the war. Besides which there is just so much dumbass occult bullshit going on in the background with the Nazis like you would not believe.

You don’t need to be smart or super competent to get a bunch of people killed. You just need enough people willing to pull the triggers and for the rest of the people to go along. Going along is easy until it ends with shit like the Holocaust.
