This article is a mess. Waste of time. I’m not even sure if Germany’s prices are indeed too high or not, as you can’t easily compare prices like it is done in the article.

Strictly speaking, there isn’t even consensous amongst roman-catholics about what “hell” is and if it’s even part of the religion or maybe just the result of a translation issue. Also, believing in magic numbers is definitely not part of modern catholic christendom. Those people seem to abuse religion to spread their own culture-oppressing beliefs.
I accuse the BBC of giving too much attention to a collection of close-minded, destructive people without investigating the facts and exposing their irrationality.

No it’s not, my demand is to lower the 7% tax down to 0%.

I wish there was a press-codex to not report on terror news. Especially, if nothing really happened. The goals: prevent inspiration to other people and, most importantly, prevent to spread fear such that terror becomes less effective. For some reasons the press decided to not report on suicides (even going to such extremes to almost make the problem invisible), yet terror news is still often shared and spread. The press is doing exactly what those criminals want. Despicable.

The only valid critic point is that they should remove taxes from raw vegetables, fruit and other basic food items, because increasing consumption of those to replace sugary processed food will really boost health. As of now, they only do half the job and thereby turning all this “it’s good you health” talk into a fat lie. It’s only about money, nothing else.

I just invoked my GDPR right to delete/close my account: https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a1379064/ and got this result:
Your LinkedIn account is now closed. Although you no longer have access to it, it’ll take a few weeks for your public profile to disappear from search engines. Your data will be deleted as described in section 4.3 of our Privacy Policy
So at least this still works.

Could we please stop to pretend that US troops would help Europe if it was attacked by Putin? I mean Putin surely calculates that way and we know the US is currently our enemy, Trump said countless times that he doesn’t like the way we do things here in Europe. Better get rid of US influence entirely. It’s better to wake up now and have time to prepare instead of finding out that US won’t defend Europe in the middle of a future Russian invasion.
100% entirely incorrect. Data processing can happen without consent. Otherwise I could just tell my tax office to not store data about me and wouldn’t need to pay taxes. This is obviously not possible. In the end, art. 6 1. c) could justify such processing. Parental consent as described in art. 8 is only needed if Art. 6 1. a) were the sole justification.
Microsoft is unaware that students need a reliable device, this also means a stable OS which they can’t offer.

I think almost all if not all EU countries have implemented freedom of expression, none has freedom of speech. The atricle 10 in the EU convention is setting a certain minimum of this right, and allows the right be to limited by other laws.

The EU never had freedom of speech. This is an US law that does not apply here. Instead, the EU has freedom of expression, codified in article 10 of the Convention for protection of human rights. This right always had limits.

Oh, I don’t care if they care about me. The attention of my comment was to express how unimportant YouTube has become for me.

I know of PeerTube and like the concept. Out of my 57 subscribed channels only 2 are available via PeerTube, 4 more are available on other sites. I hope this will improve. I’m not using the normal YouTube interface. I’ve customised it to my needs with injected scripts plus additional cosmetic blocking, e.g. I filter out unwanted search results and removed all shorts. For now it works well enough. Anyway, I’m already in the process of reducing YouTube consumption.

No, I don’t see them and the day I cannot block ads anymore is the day I am going to stop using YouTube. It’s really not that important to life.

I have neither said that nor do I believe that and I think you have misunderstood me. I criticise how data is presented in this chart. That’s all.

No, that’s not how you should compare debts. Either show debt per capita or debt as a percentage of GDP. The shown chart is just misleading.
In instances where there is no legal way to watch something piracy hurts nobody as the company would not have made money from me anyway. It doesn’t even hurt the artists, the refusal of the distributer to offer content worldwide is the real scandal that everyone in the creative industry should tackle.
In my experience way too many people are ignorant in regards of negative effects of AI usage and the data centers, both in regard to global environmental problems and the catastrophic consequences for the local population in the vincinity of large data centers. And there is the partially illegal acquisition/processing of training data, esp. the permanent storage of the original copyrighted works. That kind of ignorance is far worse than being ignorant to the couple of use cases where AI can be helpful. And that’s why I dislike AI-fan-boying.
They will couple the retirement age to life expectancy and this parameter will drop in future. I’m pretty sure we are currently around the peak value of how old the average person will get. Climate change will result in millions of premature deaths every year worldwide. Heat waves will get much more deadly, more pandemics, more extreme flash floods, tornados, storms will kill additionally. Fungi already kill a lot of old people and nobody really knows that or cares about it, despite the WHO’s warning of 8 very harmful species of fungi and their urge to invest more in prevention. Global food and water supply will get pretty precarious. More toxins accumulate in the environment. We see more wars and violence, less stable economies, more social unrest… How can any sane person expect people will live longer under those conditions? Just because conditions have improved for decades doesn’t mean it will never get worse again.
