Reddit is just a bunch of bots, jerking each other purple. They don’t have any content worth locking.

This. I think the best way to make the Internet less sh*tty is to get away from Google search.
I like the SearX search engine. It gives old-school, relevant search results, not google ranked ones.

This. Eventually, some billionaire will buy up BlueSky and make it shitty. It’s much harder for one person to take over a defederated platform, spread out over hundreds of instances in several countries.
The AI hardware isn’t for us. It’s for Google and Microsoft, so they can steal your computer’s CPU time and hard drive space so they can build their own personal Skynets. (Same thing with CoPilot, which requires 50gigs of your hard drive space. You’re also paying for the privilege of being spied on, which is nice for them, I guess.)

Collect all your evidence into one large archive, upload it somewhere and make it known that if you die of anything other than natural causes, that information will become available to EVERYONE.
Read up on how “dead man’s switches” work. If you don’t send a signal online, log into a particular account on a regular basis, that sends the release signal.

16·4 months agoThe article was incredibly light on specifics. What were the hateful / threatening messages? Why would anyone have a problem with helping developers find new jobs? Why were those developers fired in the first place?
Authoritarian regimes must control the flow of information if they want to continue to exist. Just because they can disconnect themselves from the rest of the world doesn’t mean they’ve "taken down the Internet. "
When you consider the billions that are at stake in cramming “AI” into computers, cars, phones, agit-prop generation and military hardware, I there’s a non-zero chance that his death wasn’t accidental. Maybe a second coroner’s opinion is in order.
It looks like Windows 10 is going to be my last Windows operating system. Thanks to Microsoft.
