Those are certainly words.
We probably don’t agree.
I probably said something you didn’t like.
You look lovely, by the way. New shirt?
Those are certainly words.
This is something I’m very interested in too.
Spot on. My wife and I are actually making plans to move overseas. I’m ready to get out of here, but she wants to wait until the next federal election to get a guage on where things will be heading. In the meantime, we’re saving as much money as we possibly can, because Australia isn’t the country it used to be, and it’s clear that we’re both deeply-incompatible with the general culture of apathy, government trust, and rules, rules, rules. It’s suffocating.
It’s fucking surreal to see not only this, but the amount that Google knows about Pyongyang. I did try to get directions to the concentration camp lol
Australia too. I’ll never understand it, and I live here.
Yeah, TOR in particular seems to give a lot of people a false sense of security. I live out in a very remote area, I’m certainly not going to be using TOR, for obvious reasons.
“These aren’t windows, they’re just sophisticated high resolution 3D monitors. NASA has had this tech for decades, they’ve just never let the secret out. You’re not seeing the Earth, you’re seeing a video. Why can’t we go see it with our own eyes outside? Exactly. Seems very convenient we’re being asked to wear suits with image projection helmets.”
You will never win with people this fucking stupid.
OP asked a question, I (and a few others) posted a possible answer. The pushback against this theory in particular seems to stem not from a place of reason, but from a place of emotion. I’d love to see genuine refutation to this theory, because it certainly isn’t concrete fact, but when the only thing I see is “lol stupid horny men and their fantasies” and “where are the WOMEN on this scientific study?” you’ll have to excuse me if I don’t think they’re worth entertaining as good faith rebuttals.
I didn’t just make this up, it’s a legitimate hypothesis. Someone else posted a wiki link to it (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Female_copulatory_vocalizations)
Not everything is some patriarchal social conditioning conspiracy, dude.
I don’t know how I know the answer to this, and I’ll try to keep it brief and simplify something more complex than I can go into given I’m typing on my phone, but here goes:
This goes wayyyyyyy back into our past as human beings. Women largely vocalize more than men during sex as a way to signal to other males in the area that sex is happening and that they should join in. It’s encouragement for the male, but it goes deeper (heh) than that - the human penis is quite large as far as body to dick ratio for animals goes, and there are two reasons for that; the head is designed to ‘scoop’ competing males’ semen out with each thrust in preparation for replacing it with the dick-haver’s own, while the longer shaft allows deeper penetration in order to scoop as much as possible.
So basically, when a woman moans loudly, it’s signifying she’s ready to go, and that the strongest male in a group will be the one to eventually impregnate her. It’s literally a survival of the fittest mechanism.
Now obviously that isn’t the reason for it these days, as we’re all aware that our intelligence as a species makes sex a vastly more complex thing than it is for other animals at this point in our evolutionary path, but that’s what researchers believe is the origin of sexy female noises.
EDIT: This is a legitimate hypothesis. Not everything is some modern social construct with no link to any evolutionary advantages and survival of the fittest. I’m sorry if this challenges your narrow worldview.

It’s very telling when the only criticism you really see leveled against Brave is that same article everybody posts as some kind of trap card, despite the fact it can be boiled down to “don’t use Brave because the CEO is a bigot or something, and you have to opt out of their crypto stuff.” Cool. I don’t care about those things, I care about the browser’s ability to do what I need it to, and Brave does. Are you putting your trust in a company that could be selling your data? Sure, that’s always a risk, but until it’s been confirmed, I’m happy to stick with it. I mean shit, it even beats out GrapheneOS’s Vanadium in the fingerprinting test, and that’s the browser I use on my phone.
imo, the hate against Brave is unfounded and seems to be coming from the anti-Chromium crowd. There are valid arguments to be made against it, but I honestly couldn’t give less of a fuck what their CEO believes as long as the product works as advertised, and Brave consistently scores highly in privacy and security tests.
Aussie here. Gumtree is worse than useless ever since eBay purchased it and ran it into the ground with ads, excessive sponsored placements, a substantial price increase for promotion, and did nothing about the rampant bot problem. You’ll occasionally get some use out of it, but imo, the site is dead, and by design. I truly believe eBay fucked it on purpose, as it used to be a decent competitor before the acquisition.

If this passes, the rest of the world will follow. This CANNOT be allowed to happen.
Fascism, authoritarianism, totalitarian dystopian thinking, it’s all the same to me when it comes to the State overstepping and blatantly looking to pass laws that remove the right to privacy and autonomy from citizens. I’m no leftist ideologue, I skew libertarian right (although I couldn’t describe all the nuance of my views within the context of a simple label), but if there’s one thing we have in common, it’s our hatred of government overreach and corporate control of the masses.
Fuck authoritarianism. Fuck collectivist bullshit. Never stand for the trampling of your rights.
What fucking fascists.
2014 wasn’t a decade… ago, oh my fucking god.
I don’t understand how people find it so difficult to just stop spending their money on shit they don’t need. You have to treat yourself occasionally, but I’ll never understand those who anyways have to buy the newest thing.
My car is over ten years old. I still use a Pixel 4. I don’t own any fancy clothes, new consoles, TV’s, etc. and I’m perfectly happy. I run my own business and put money aside, ensuring I’m not going to go hungry if shit hits the fan, which is always a very real possibility. The last nice thing I bought myself was a gaming laptop, and that was just to replace my old one which got me through a good 5 years of use.
People need to start being happy with less. It’s really, really easy to do, and you’ll likely find yourself feeling happier not giving a fuck about the New Thing… or maybe I’m just getting older and my priorities have changed.
EDIT: I should note that this is aimed at people who complain about having money issues, but who go out and spend it on things they don’t need and then blame anything but their own actions. If your dopamine hits come from buying stuff, and you’re all good with that, more power to you.
I never had any real issues with speed using Surfshark, the reason I made the switch was largely about trust. As another user said, as soon as I saw Surfshark start their YouTube advertising spree, and start to bloat their client with unnecessary features, I started looking for alternatives.
I’m iffy about any VPN company that uses YouTuber marketing as it is, and while my threat model isn’t overly paranoid, I believe the VPN company someone chooses to use should have paranoid business practices. After I saw the news on Mullvad’s raid, the authorities subsequently finding nothing, and the fact that a user’s account is merely a string of numbers, I decided it was the VPN for me.
It is definitely that good. We just don’t want to share it.
