yea that was my next question, if the title was actually available in the country selected, I had that issue with Netflix searches constantly

oh sorry if I was unclear, yea since it’s still a different account I would need to login when I change regions as well, I can’t change halfway through.

that’s similar to how I do it, change the region and then pay, but some items I’ve noticed block sale if the originating payment method is in a different region

Aside from device ID, or maybe if you’re using a billing address as something from Australia, I can’t see how they would be, you’ve stated location services are off, VPN will mask the ip.
I didn’t even need to use a VPN in my cases between Canada and the US, changing to an account that was in the region that allowed the purchase was all I had to do.
That being said if I changed my Canada account to use the billing address of my US residence instead of my Canadian residence when on the Canadian region, I would get region locked I found, so if you have a primary payment method on file using your AU address you could try temporarily removing or modifying it to have a different address

As someone who jumps between the US and Canada (since on the border) I’ve found that, Amazon will block purchases from Canada to the US and visa versa, it doesn’t care about ip, it uses your accounts region, Canada and US have seperate regions in your account settings that you need to do. Sadly this means you would need two different accounts. One for CA and one for US. It’s likely the same deal with audible
my door doesn’t close fully, so I close it all but the crack that is forced. I do this because people in the house are up and down constantly, and my sleep schedule would bd interrupted if I left it open.

or sometime they do hash the password but they are just ignorant of how it works so they keep the limit regardless

some sites like Walmart are removing the password requirement completly in favor of OTP, mcdonalds does the same, you type your email/phone number it sends you a link and you click the link to gain access. I wouldn’t recommend that for a bank site but, a low risk site? why not.

you gotta be careful with the afterlife though, only heros make it past judgement iirc most get turned away for aimless wander or whatever it was
I blocked it at the router, so nowadays I don’t use it unless there’s an article I really need to access
edit: I just attempted this again on my laptop, they have slightly fixed the issue. If an update is queued when you’re online you can remove it from the queue and then go offline and you can play it again. However if you are online you still need to update in order to play the game. This is much better than what it used to be, which was if it detected that you need an update even if you canceled the update and went offline it would say update required.
old post: If you could point me to these settings that you indicate it would be much appreciated,
Please be aware that if the setting your indicating is the allow background updates or the prevent auto updates. While that will make it so the game will not update automatically it will still register the game as requiring update which means if you go offline it won’t let you play the game until the update has been done.
I’m going to go test it again because it’s been a while since I’ve tried update in a few minutes
A workaround you can do is, before launching steam disconnect from the internet, then launch steam, when it launches it will say no connection and give an option to launch in offline mode, once offline mode is launched you can turn your internet back on. Just keep in mind steam also has to refresh your games every once and awhile as well so you have to go online at /some/ point or it won’t let you play the game offline anymore. Steam is super annoying in that matter.
unless this changed in the last 2 years, steam detects if a game has an “update pending” so regardless if you go offline, if it detected there was an update it prevents the game from launching. I tried to get around my parents crap download with that trick and it failed.

if cartoons count, the “return the slab” episode on Courage the cowerdly dog, scared the hell out of me and I couldn’t be in the dark for months after.
I actively avoid sites that do this, if I find that I’m on the site enough to Warrant getting the app I’ll get the app. I actually didn’t realize that Reddit enforced this until about 5 or 6 months ago because they didn’t enforce that when I first started using reddit, I had already moved over to third party applications before they implemented the system. Not that it matters much anymore, I uninstalled any apps I had for the platform and blocked it for the house. I’m done with it

Mine wasn’t a selling console, it was a “I’m sure I can fix this” and it was my old original Fat PS3 with backwards compatibilit. Back when I was first looking into technology as a hobby/passion, my ps3 stopped working, me being ignorant decided “lets take it apart to see if anythings burnt”, well I never put it back together again when I was done saying I would do it later, I never ended up doing so, and while I still have what I think is most of the pieces, I’m 80% sure that it is missing pieces, but I also haven’t had the time to do a proper once over on it.
well that was a long read, was interesting tho, think it’s safe to say yes they won’t be supporting it period, they just didn’t wanna say it.
my process is:
My main reason? The administration team, I can understand needing money and wanting to charge for the API services, and while they were higher than normal I would have probably been okay with paying a subscription to help keep the third party app I was using running.
That was until I saw the CEOs response to the development community and anyone who remotely asked about it. That was before he absolutely butchered the ama, and before he slandered one of the largest third-party developers in the community, and then when being called with evidence the bull crap he was spreading instead decided to attack said Community member saying that he didn’t realize that it was recorded and that he stands by what he said. That was before he decided to threaten the moderator teams on the platform who may I remind you was working for free as volunteers comparing them to a landed gentry.
It is very clear that what he says publicly is polar opposite of how he administrates, he may say that Reddit is an open Community where the community has final say, but his actions say completely otherwise; it’s his way or the highway. And since he is the CEO of the platform I’m choosing the highway and clearly I’m not the only one.
At this point even if he decided to do a complete 180, and made a formal apology to the site and reversed the actions of the API changes(which I personally think financially wise would be unwise they should have funneled it into Reddit Gold somehow) I wouldn’t go back, it’s clear how the leadership is on the site and quite frankly that’s not something I want to contribute to.
so far I’ve seen some bots post articles that setup some pretty decent conversation. I am slightly annoyed that it floods but, I just keep my sorting by stuff that’s hot and it’s usually good.
