No idea about the raw idealized intelligence. However one of the biggest advantages humans have as far as societal living and advancement is language, both spoken AND written. Spoken languages are fairly niche amongst species of the world though there is evidence of many mammalian species that have at least the basics of it.

However written language is unique to humans. That alone regardless of any other measurable aspect of “intelligence,” has placed human society firmly at the top of the earthly animal kingdom.

So is this just a case where if you have a privileged user i.e. developer options, you can do things like change the time? People that have the need to share “personal stories” with basically strangers are looking for an audience first and foremost. Lemmy has way fewer people so the type of person trying to seek that attention will be going to facebook/twitter/reddit etc. If Lemmy was one of the top-ten most used sites, then we’d see a lot more of that kind of content.

Agreed. Also from the US perspective. Global trade should be for bespoke high-quality regional goods, not commodities. There is basically nothing from China that the US gets that should be made in China and shipped to the US.

I feel like the next time a democracy wants to protect itself from fascism, that the “constitutional” document should dictate what members of the government can and can’t do. And that the punishment for advocating for fascist policies is dismissal from the government forever.

If we took America’s Bill of Rights for example, advocating for laws that are on the surface against one of the amendments should result in that representative being removed from office. If Congress passes a law (not an amendment, but a law) then when that law is declared unconstitutional, they should all be dismissed with prejudice.

The right to privacy should be enshrined and people like her should be removed from office and never given a platform again.

This has always been possible with anything anyone has ever posted publicly before social media. I’m glad sheeple are waking up.

Hey guys open source is great you can look at all the code and therefore there are no security backdoors etc. Also here are a bunch of pre-compiled blobs in the repo, don’t worry about those, but they are required to run the program.

I guess having a thick provisioned VM image on your laptop means that you are hiding something. Again if the evil government you are trying to hide something from doesn’t need reasonableness as a reason to detain you, then who cares? No matter what you do you are rolling the dice every time you interact with them.

Which is of course similar to the US today, so if I needed to hide something from them I’d make sure that once i’m legally compelled to give my password they at the very least wouldn’t have what they are looking for, since there is no way I could prove I didn’t have it anyway.
