I understand that but think about it. As a Linux user, i don’t go to dowload pages. I simply apt install or pacman -S or change my configuration.nix. I will never see that donate button unless I go to the project’s page.

Imma be straight up. Donations are cool but not a lot of people give donations. partly because some are skint (i used to be) but mainly because people just don’t know.

i feel like the biggest issue that foss projects face is the fact that they don’t ask for donations in a way that the average user knows about. Kde sends a notification around christmas asking for donos. I haven’t seen any other foss app do anything similar.

here’s some advice from me. Outlook is completely usable from a web browser. This includes phone browsers… just use that if you need your emails on your personal phone.

They fit GTA V on a single disk on launch. Sure, textures were blocky and effects looked like piss but you could play the entire game offline.

In the same way that someone replaced all rainbow flags with confederate battle flags in Spiderman, someone’s gonna mod the game to change the character’s texture, then racists will also be happy (unless the game is shitty idk).

I found it rude but not anymore and I have to really think about it. On facebook messenger, the default emoji is 👍 and during my stay on that platform (~2011-2017) it was regarded as a rude, low effort dismissal, at least inside my circles.
