The person I replied to specifically said it was part of the 7th grade curriculum. Classes like that existing is not surprising, but it being part of middle school curriculum is very surprising to me.

I went to a rural school, and everyone had a “hunters education” class in like 7th grade. We never touched a gun but we could legally go hunting with a gun after.

They work for getting rid of that ‘hard’ water taste.

It might reduce lead and PFAS in some small way (leaving them trapped in the filter and slowly leeching into every glass you pour until you replace it), but it’s not really doing much for that. It’s not going to fix Flint Michigan’s water.

If you’re in a place with bad drinking water, first you should use one of those water purification tablets, then put the water through a Brita filter to get rid of the tablet’s taste.

I once got detention for “hacking.” All the school computers were on the same network, so if you opened Computer Management, then selected a different computer on the network, you could… get this… eject the disc drive on unsuspecting people. They’d be on their computer, 15 feet away, and then I’d click a button and their disc drive would eject, momentarily confusing them.

Librarian saw me using the “My Computer” folder to get to Computer Management, apparently that was proof enough. How is using available folders on the computer “hacking”? I have no idea, didn’t seem to be relevant.
