I see that we’ve entered the bargaining period.
I see that we’ve entered the bargaining period.
I’ve been hearing about Linux elitists for the last 20 years, and I have yet to meet one. But what I do see is an endless wave of trolling and bad faith arguments about the supposed complexity of Linux.
They treat a wide array of developers, maintainers and enthusiasts as employees of Linux inc, and now they’re grumpy because their imaginary ticket submitted to a nonexisting helpdesk is not being processed.
I have recieved much more help and support from the Linux community than from any other proprietary software helpdesk.
I like how the Linux user stereotype has changed from “greasy neckbeard” to “femboy”.
I used to frequent the /tg/ board, it had people making homebrew conceptual RPGs - the kind of stuff that the indie RPG scene pretends to have invented. Sorry to see the site go, but it was inevitable.
Try being a graphic designer or video editor. I’ve stopped running out of disk space and started running out of SATA slots on the mobo.
Idgaf about online multiplayer, only local and singleplayer.
Yeah, I’ve seen the same song and dance for the last 20 years. At this point I just shrug whenever I hear Windows users complain about their shitty OS.
Blender is so versatile, and has so many applications that you have to end up with a cluttered interface. Since the alternatives have licenses that have a steep cost, I would say that putting up with a clunky interface is well worth it.
Yeah, people are bitching about first party titles never going down in price, meanwhile I’m here enjoying my 300Eur indie machine.
I understand the impetus behind RTFM - It happens when the user failed to do basic troubleshooting and expects others to do their thinking. Being blown off doesn’t feel great, but other people’s time is valuable, and in the end your system is your own responsibility.
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Hear hear! It’s wild to see what Mac and Windows users put up with. The Linux experience may sometimes be cryptic and frustrating, but at least I know I’m not paying for the privilege of being shat on by a large corporation.
Flatpak is love, flatpak is life.
Installing Linux on your buttplug is a bold move, I say.
I will copypaste your comment next time people complain Linux is hard to learn.
“Alias? What is that?”
Noooo, you cannot have a consistent UI/UX experience across platforms with decades old commands and tools, my imaginary grandma might get confused, also you need three IT degrees to type “man command” into a term window.
Must be the reason why I’m king of my castle
Must be the reason why I’m freeing my trapped soul
Must be a reason why I’m making examples of you
“Whoops I stomped on the MBR again, what are you gonna do 'bout it?”
