I believe it is a mistake selecting that particular instance for those communities.
The risk isn’t just that they shut it down, there’s a much worse thing that could happen: pinpoint elision (or even editing) of reporting on the genocide.
Idiomdrottning demonstrates a new and often cleaner way to solve most systems problems. The system as a whole is likely to feel tantalizingly familiar to culture users but at the same time quite foreign.

They’re 100% right (for once… I guess broken clock style 🤦🏻♀️). Can’t believe some Unix modders are still using that word, I thought we had this discussion a decade ago.

And then Tears of the Kingdom in turn lived up to the hype set for it. So great
That could have been:
• Xia, legends of a drift system
• Star Wars, outer rim
• Firefly
• Merchant of Venus
Those are probably the most well-known games along that line 💁🏻♀️

I agree; Nix is better than containers. You can also run just nix-shell instead of installing Nix as a full distro.
For the purposes of security and encryption, you’re right, and that’s not why it looked bad.
For someone coming from open protocols like email, XMPP, atom, and Fedi, it was not a good first impression to see their system grown ever more owned-by-them.
Here is their own marketing explanation. I remember this, because coincidentally, this was one the first times I heard of Signal. Not a good first impression 💁🏻♀️

Article says DDG removed some bangs.
This is one of the reasons why we made it possible to add custom bangs in Just Bangs!
And for some reason my post showed up on here with an older profile picture.
A frustrating bug in Friendica.
Your post is on Nerdica (addressed to an actor—a community, in this case—on Lemmy). So the Nerdica version is the original, it’s just been boosted on Lemmy.
The same goes for the comment I’m replying to now; it’s a Nerdica comment. It shows up on Lemmy and other instances, but it canonically lives on your Friendica instance.

Yeah, this is the way, at least for now.

Not to take away from brid.gy and other more high tech solutions, which I should look into and maybe switch to, but I have a Jekyll site (kind of a mix between a one-person wiki and a blog), and what I do is that I just post excerpts from my posts and add a link to the post. I think this is great because Fedi posts aren’t editable but Jekyll posts are, and my writing is typo-ridden and sloppy so I really appreciate being able to fix things.
It still sucks when I make a typo in the excerpt.
That’s rich when the Google Play store is full of malware while F-Droid is full of gems.
