I just wanna know why they push for it.
To my knowledge we do not have any rules against talking about other communities. I will bring it up with the other mods. With the way Lemmy works there will be other subs of the same name with cross subs. I’m going to be subbed to any F1 sub I can find.
As the other person posted no rules against, it’s all opportunity and money. This is a rich persons sport. Drivers have to pretty much supply their own sponsors through all the lower racing series into F1. Like it or not, young girls are not often pushed into racing. These drivers start young, like 8-13. Folks definitely need to see they can do something to believe they can do something so the W series hopefully helped with that.
I believe that Hamilton Commission and Mission 44 are working towards addressing these issues of access for minority and disadvantaged folks. It’s a long road though due to money, sexism, and racism.

On the spoilers. I see we have the option to create comments with spoils. I will do some testing to see.
The plan is to make a weekend a race discussion, I am working on getting a bot running to automate the process but as we get things going it will be manual.
As for race spoilers in titles we have not made a decision, May need to get a community vote going. I living in west coast US also dislike the spoilers but try to remember folks are pretty excited about their team winning. Not sure how I would vote at this time. Please think about it yourselves.

Agreed. It’s been a rough year being a McLaren fan. I think Lando has the ability to win races if he was driving something more similar to an F1 car instead of a tractor. Let’s hope some upgrades keep coming and we see more racing from them.

No. And to think otherwise is elitist. Ease of access is important. Advanced features are important.
Making UI easy to use for casual users is how you end up with power users or advanced users.
I need a UI that makes it easy to get started and then let me grow into it. I don’t need something that takes weeks to figure out and then I can lorde it over the un-initiated.
Will be nice to see some competition at the top for sure.
Mid field has been fun, but there’s something about not knowing who the number 1 will go to that has an effect on how I view the race quality.
Ya, which is a bummer. Would be nice to see a title fight.
