Military protection was a big deal during the Cold War. But today? Russia is too weak and the America can’t protect sea routes.
Energy dependance? Renewables are on the rise and the petrodollar’s days are numbered when this current oil crisis continues.
American tech is at a critical point. When the AI bubble bursts, you will see so much more enshittification and price hikes to recover costs. FOSS alternatives get their time to shine.

Well if the system fails a bit, your bus or tram won’t drive because the driver isn’t paid.
If the system fails so hard that fuel isn’t available at all, you have a catastrophe uncompatible to industrial society in total.


You can’t force it on any Linux distro, but on everybody who has to give a shit about compliance.
