Depends on the game. If it’s not really demanding on reaction time, and the game is locked framerate I’m fine with 30, like Okami. However if the game is not locked FPS and I still can’t hit 60 FPS at least on my 1440p monitor I’d probably just play something else (because I know I could have better experience is I could run it).
However for shooter and reaction heavy games I always aim to max out my 144 Hz monitor, even 60 FPS can feel sluggish for me
I am Hungarian, but everything I use is in English. As a software developer it’s basically the language of my work and I started consuming media in English at a young age.
Never thought about it… I’d say no. But I’d like my friends and family to be proud of me (as well as myself)

I don’t doubt the guy had good intentions at first, my theory is that greed got to him as the money started to pour in. What would have been the end goal if nobody ever notices? Can you even hide this kind of money from authorities as a charity organization?
However, I think he still can salvage the situation and his some of his reputation if he owns up to his mistakes and donates all of the money now.
It makes sense for me in third person games. Imagine a stick stuck in the protagonist head from behind. You are the camera behind the character, imagine you grabbing the stick and rotating the head with that. You have to pull the stick down for the character to look up, and push it upwards to look down. By the same logic, you have to move it left for the character to look right, and vice versa. The stick is the analog stick on the gamepad.
Once you get used to this control scheme, it’s quite hard to re-learn non-inverted controls.

Yes! To add to this, please let me invert the analog stick camera controls. Both axis! My biggest pet peeve is when a game let’s you invert the Y axis, but not the X… Why? You were so close dammit how much effort is adding the other really?
Cultist Simulator somehow made me feel the same fanaticism as I assume a cultist would feel. It can be very addicting, chasing the endgame, driven by curiosity and desire for power. Not for everyone though.
Really interesting. I watch anime occasionally and I’ve been wondering about this. But suddenly the dramatic shoutouts between the good guys and the big bad makes a little bit more sense.

I’ve had the luck to meet some good Turkish people for a couple of days a few years back, I remember they showed me all kinds of music. I agree, it’s also a beautiful language.

Maybe it’s so alluring to me because it sounds close to hungarian, but at the same time more rythmic and melodic to me.
+1 for Mark of the Ninja. The gameplay is so polished, great art direction, and simple but satisfying. It is a staple Klei Entertainment game. Not to mention the good story, at least as I remember. It’s not a new game, released originally in 2012, however there’s a remastered version on Steam.
I do agree with the author that Stardew Valley can be stressful. A day is too short, and you want to cream in as much as you can. We play coop together with my girlfriend and we still feel overwhelmed sometimes.
But I do admit, this just might be because of our playstyles. We actually enjoy chaotically cramming in everything in one day, and we have roles and usual chores assigned. She usually grinds the mines and takes care of animals, I take care of the crops and community house stuff.
We didn’t even touch NPC interaction yet, might be missing a lot!
All I’m saying is, I never got the laid-back, slow, relaxed feeling from Stardew. Yes, it’s serene and peaceful in theme, but it’s as fast-paced as you want it to be. It really respects your time I think.
Yeah I think these hardware created their own category, handheld PCs. Separate from PC, console and handheld consoles.
Yeah. Cities: Skylines biggest draw was traffic simulation. If they are downgrading the variety of traffic and vehicles then I’ll wait.
I’m also a new user and to be honest, it’s pretty much the same browsing experience for me. I use Jerboa, and browse all for now, subscribing to subs that I like. I’m on Beehaw, and it federates with a lot of instances, I can pretty much find all the entertainment I would want from reddit.
Even more so, the community is much more frendly, cozier and there are much less noise and significantly more meaningful conversation which I truly appreciate.
I won’t delete my account on reddit, because even though I loathe their practices, I also dislike removing information - I’m all for archiving discussions and information.
I think it will be a difference in scale. It will be cheaper to pay for AI bots en masse, flooding forums and social media more efficiently.
But I agree with that federation would help combat this phenomenon.

As nutomic, a maintainer of Lemmy explained in this post, currently the most pressing issue is slow SQL queries which is a performance bottleneck. This might contribute heavily of the overloaded servers, so the project in need of some SQL experts to take a look at optimizing these queries! Link to Github issue
