Search (Jordan) Black September.
I don’t disagree with you (apart from maybe $5k being a pocket change in Russia), we need to reduce inequality and bring back financial security in our societies.
There seems to be a small misunderstand on your part though - this baby bonus is not trying to increase fertility, at least not directly. The main goal is to reduce child mortality. The main beneficiaries of these bonuses are low income families, and for them every little helps. It’s also just one part of the support system, as all of the countries from the article have other welfare systems to accompany.
The rest of the world thinks that the USA is weird, yes. But if I was an American, I would take any little help that I can.
What are you arguing here exactly? Are you saying that $5000 are negligible to parents?
What’s your definition of “works” in this context then?
Well it does work actually. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baby_bonus

Exhibit A The problem is that China and the US have about half of the world’s wealth. The EU (plus uk and other EEA) control another quarter. So as annoying as it is, the EU can either negotiate with one country (USA/China) or 160+ (the rest of the world) to achieve the same financial gain. Of course economics are not everything, but when you understand the picture above, you can start seeing the problem.

Can you explain what you mean please.

No need to nitpick because you’re comparing apples to oranges, so I’m trying to understand what you even mean by social security and pensions. All the EEA countries provide free or accessible health care and state pensions by the state and/or military. And the reason why you’re statement doesn’t compute for me is because a lot of the “big ones + scandinavia” are conscription countries that provide everything while you’re in service and you would get military pension if you decide to stay in the army professionally after your mandatory time is over.

When you say “Europeans don’t” which country are you referring to exactly?

I think you misunderstood how the report works. The rankings are from people answering the poll using cantril ladder scoring. Then academics try to look at different statistics in that country to try to explain why people gave their country that score. The academics don’t score the countries.

I’m missing your point? Are you saying that polish people had German passports or that Muslim people don’t have Israeli passports?

I won’t argue about other people’s identity, but nationality wise - if they have Israeli passport, they are Israeli in the census data.

Unfortunately the data doesn’t support your thesis. child birth graph Haredi jews are having more than double births than the average Israeli Muslim.
Combined (secular etc.) Jewish birth rate is on par (slightly higher) than Israeli Muslims and Palestinians in Gaza. (This was even before all the bullshit started last year)

I didn’t say it’s a great plan. But it’s better than no plan.
I don’t understand all the down votes. You don’t have to agree with it, it doesn’t even mean that I agree with it… But I just wanted to shine some context to why it’s not ironic to many Jews.

I would like to bring a counter point for you to consider.
When I put all my money in a bank, I have a guaranty from a regulatory body /government that in case of bankruptcy I will still get my money back, even if the bank goes bust.
This is similar for Jews around the world - Israel is an insurance policy. If your local country starts leaning towards fascism and looking for a scapegoat (which is usually Jews), then you’d have the option to go to Israel immediately. Because historically they’ve seen and still see how refugees are being treated and not welcome globally.

I literally wrote a list of countries in my comment…
Let’s see…
…countries with other cultural influences.
No, no you didn’t.
You literally compared Anglo-Saxon countries to “countries with other cultural influences” and then say it’s complex… Pick a lane dude.

Which countries are you talking about? China? Mongolia? South Africa? Emirates? Argentina? I would argue that the “Anglo-Saxon” countries probably have less capital inequality, but it’s definitely a global problem - people with money don’t need to adhere to borders.
For someone with no prior knowledge - can you explain why is that?
