Given that NATO mandates 2% GDP on defence, they’re pulling their weight. Estonia is not a large country, so $1.5B goes a lot further there than in larger nations.

As someone who has basically come to see “memecoin” and “scam” as synonyms, I have a hard time having any sympathy for anyone who puts money into this shit. Everyone knows that the endgame of every memecoin is for the creator to walk away with all the profit, right? Enough incidental people win a bit of money to keep everyone gambling that they can beat the scam, but everyone has to know that they’re feeding the scam when they buy in, right?
That’s because it’s the easy way out for those studios. Can’t design the macguffins so they’re interesting to find no sir. They’ve got to be well hidden, but that makes it too difficult for the player and we can’t have that! Better implement the Macguffin Highlighter Pulse™ to lead them right to it!
I think the meaning is that the Lemmy.ml fascists aren’t actually communist.
I’m guessing a lot of wire wheeling to remove the cracked surface, and then reseasoning the entire pan, but idk for sure
FWIW, Business Insider is reporting that the CCP offered him $15 million to land his Chinook on one of their carriers. So that adds some perspective
Are we really still considering SCMP a reliable news source? It’s a heavily pro-beijing publication, and tends to interpret absolutely everything in as pro-china as possible.
Most of the time, watch band sizes are given by the width of the strap (i.e 20mm or 22mm). You (or any jeweler) can measure that dimension on the watch face, and then it should be super easy to find a compatible replacement. For the most part, the locking mechanism for attaching the band to the watch is very standardized (spring loaded barrel pin), and while they can be fiddly, generally they are fairly easy to work with.
Whether Vietnam or the Philippines has a more solid legal claim is, frankly, up to them to figure out. The country who has zero legal claim , however, is China. So they can fuck right off.
Nuclear is 100% the future. It provides the highest energy density (i.e. it produces the most kwh/square mile), and is also the safest and most environmentally friendly form of power generation we have right now. The downside is the amount of time it takes to bring reactors online. Make no mistake, the time cost is a feature, not a bug. There are phenomenally stringent requirements and QC checks that must be met in order to ensure public and environmental safety. However, this also means that nuclear is not the solution right now. What we should be doing is constructing wind, solar, tidal, etc. plants to transition away from fossil fuels in the immediate future, while simultaneously beginning construction on nuclear plants, so we can eventually transition to those.
And if anyone is having trouble with that last one, here’s a useful video guide.
Maybe information was shared, but Canada either did not believe the threat credible enough, or in some other way messed up themselves? We likely won’t ever know the full story. Historically, other nations don’t tend to appreciate the US conducting operations on their soil, so there isn’t a ton the US can do to protect a Canadian citizen in Canada, other than pass the information along.
Having built some off brand Lego kits (Cobi), the rainbow colored interior bricks actually make it so much easier to tell what pieces go where.
Honestly, my favorite of his was putting scammers through the Neal.fun password game. That thing is hard enough if you know what’s going on
FWIW, I swap between phones weekly (separate work phone w/o cameras, but same phone number), and transfer my WhatsApp account at the same time. Both the phones have their own unique message history, and it does not sync between devices. I do not have backups enabled on either phone.
I just hated being railroaded into the drug trips. Like, in the northern region, there is literally no way to escape the hunters with bows who drug you. You can be in an enclosed helicopter a hundred feet off the ground, and they still hit you with an arrow.
Otherwise, great game, beautiful game, and honestly not awful co-op.
You know it’s a great service when you charge people to not have to deal with it
I mean, if you go further back than 1947/1948, didn’t the Palestinians used to own Israel? Or do we want to go even further back, to about 1200 BCE?
To clarify, just checking these things doesn’t do anything. Checking them, knowing what’s wrong, and then taking action is what saves you a ton of money.
There are a lot of things about the steam deck I respect, including that the only difference in price points is down to available storage, not performance. It really makes the device so much more accessible
