I didn’t say it wasn’t? I just said the new party and it’s leadership are a joke. I didn’t say anything about the UK, itself.

Joke of a name for a joke of a party. Corbyn et al have already lost all credibility after the launch debacle.

Thankfully, the UK has more than one alternative to choose from, both the Greens and LibDems are shaping up to be strong left-challenges to the Uniparty and Reform.

I don’t disagree about “American” being too vague, or the implied cultural supremacy over the rest of the Americas, I just hate the specific term “Unitedatatesian” because it’s long and ridiculous. Besides, it doesn’t really solve the problem of vagueness, it just shifts the question from "Where in the Americas" to "Which United States," since (while the USA is probably the first country you think of when someone says “America” or “United States”) there are other federal republics, some of which use the same or similar language.

If you want to use a seperate word that’s more specific to the United States of America, we already have one that’s deeply connected to our history and culture, which is easy to say, and which won’t get us confused with people of any other country: “Yankee.” It’s even used already in a lot of countries, notably by the English, and variants of it are used in other countries.

I despise “unitedatatesian” as a demonym. If you don’t like “American,” just say Yankee.

But yeah, Trump needs to either support Ukraine or fuck off. Our nvolvement is only desirable if it involves a shitload of material support to Kiev, not this backstabbing bullshit.

No, no it wouldn’t. The issues are systemic, not the result of the federal government’s existence. Did Britain become less corrupt after leaving the EU? No, because Britain’s problems are systemic to their own politics.

It might make the fight more local, but that’s already the case. You can already campaign for change in your state, but people don’t do that. The average American doesn’t know their local representatives, and don’t engage in local poltics. You have to change that attitude, and convince people in the concept of a civil society, in which they are actively participating members.

So, like a union… Of American states… The problem is that we’ve already got that, but people don’t participate in those local governments. They show up once every 4 years to vote for president, and get mad when that doesn’t magically fix everything.

Sure, but you could post this about anything. What does this have to do with Japan?
