Well I feel better about making the switch to Firefox now, and doing a custom user.js

8·2 years agoYou should be so proud of yourself! That’s a major accomplishment doing the research and figuring it out yourself.
Wanted to “aquire legitimately” a movie and from there learned more and more about how big business and big brothers all over like to invade privacy for power and profit.

I really like using Brave. Seems to strike a good overall balance. It has some annoying things like the crypto crap, but luckily you can customize a lot of that so you don’t see it.
1·2 years agoI’m a huge HTYD fan so I’ve been regularly playing Rise of Berk everyday.
1·2 years agoYeah, that’s an excellent point. Youtube does have a monopoly for that. It would be nice if there were competition in the space.
As irritating as it is. I do understand. The internet and things on the internet can’t just be free, and ads is how we pay.
I do highly disagree with how many ads they’ve been playing with implementing.

I don’t really know of any social media alternatives.
Firefox, Hardened Safari, or Brave for Browsers (I prefer Brave especially on ios. The add blockers and protections work a lot better than a lot of options) I also mainly used hardened Safari for a while and it also worked really well.
1password works great for passwords, I’ve also heard great things about Proton Pass which is part of the Proton ecosystem. (I want to try Proton eventually when I can afford it)
